Channel 5 Thread - Cassia Tuna - 26-04-2021 Use this thread to post news/updates regarding Channel 5 and/or its content. I'll start: BBC News, 26/4/21: Charlotte Crosby: Channel 5 pulls 'immoral' plastic surgery documentary https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-56888856 Channel 5 Thread - XIII - 26-04-2021 I'm sure many on here will use this thread to slag off Channel 5 from time to time!

To be fair Channel 5 is mainly a good channel now and getting some big ratings for their Ben Fogle show, All Creatures Great & Small and recently intruder got between 3.1 and 4.2 million but then they go back to the Benefits Street type shows and the this all laugh at people documentaries or the Charlotte Crosby documentary mentioned above. If they could do more of the shows I mentioned and less of the shock documentaries and people on benefits shows they might lose the negative stereotypes. It was more about the stereotypes associated with Channel 5 which I should have made clear Channel 5 Thread - London Lite - 26-04-2021 If anything I'd associate C5 with Royal and railway docs than the previous benefit bashing docs that were on when Dirty Des owned the channel. Channel 5 Thread - VMPhil - 26-04-2021 Channel 5's bad reputation is not unwarranted. I associate Channel 5 with awful clip shows featuring the worst technical quality clips imaginable, terrible re-editing of old shows, and scheduling decisions that include repeating every episode of a show except the last one. Channel 5 Thread - Benriggers - 26-04-2021 I noticed on Freeview EPG recently that they currently air "Classic" House Doctor (2001) during the day. Yorkshire during the week, royals on a Saturday I think they’ve aired a royal doc every Saturday night for about a year now, I’m surprised they haven’t run out of topics. Also at holiday times, cheap clip shows that go on for hours with Z list talking heads “Michael McIntyre - In his own words” where his only own words are old clips from chat shows ten years ago, but it’s made to sound like he’s actually involved in the production. House Doctor has been shown in the early hours (4am/5am) on loop for longer than anyone cares to remember...think it normally has signing. C5 musy he getting desperate now having this on during Lunchtime and calling it 'classic'. Whatever next, Family Affairs followed by quiz show 100%. They also started the Gibraltar documentary series last night at 10pm which is from 2013! Channel 5 Thread - nwtv2003 - 26-04-2021 I’m not sure of the logic as to why, but the daily double bill of Friends is shown at around 3:00am now. |
