Presenter Anecdotes - Lewser - 18-04-2021 Looking through this forum got me thinking of quirky little stories of when I met some of the nation's great anchors. Once Peter Sissons came down to open a nursing home in Exeter. A really lovely chap. I had to ask if he had the infamous burgundy tie, which he said he did! He suggested it would probably make a good auction piece for charity one day. Another story which still gives me nightmares is when I used the term less instead of fewer in a sentence in casual conversation with Jeremy Paxman. He wasn't impressed. Never ever forgotten and I find myself now correcting others. Quite a common error it seems. Has anyone else got any fun (or not so fun) stories about news presenters? Presenter Anecdotes - JamesWorldNews - 18-04-2021 1990/91. Dublin Airport. British PM Thatcher had just landed from London for some talks. Arrivals hall packed with media. News filtered through that Maggie was being escorted out through a back exit. Media all ran en-masse to catch her. ITN's Jeremy Thompson literally ran into me and his cameraman almost flattened my friend. Presenter Anecdotes - Rob - 18-04-2021 I'm very good friends with Mike Bushell. We had a joint birthday party in 2019, which took place a couple of weeks after he was voted out of Strictly. It was a rather messy night, which involved us doing the conga through the pub! |
