What sort of set-up do you have to capture TV presentation?
I've gone through various different methods over the years, but I currently use one of these:

This is a Spiderbox SB100S, purchased off eBay for about £20. It has a USB slot which allows you to record programmes directly onto disk. The files on the disk are in .ts format, which allows me to edit them into videos using Avidemux, and grab images from them using VLC Media Player.
The lit up box on the left acts as the reciever for the remote control. That has to be plugged in, or else the remote won't work!!

My setup, if you can call it that, is a laptop and Bandicam (other screen recorders are available) - I generally record from the streaming/catchup services with a box just big enough for the watermark to fall off the captured area, then crop it out after the fact.
Probably an easier way of doing it but I'm lazy.
Always wanted a capture card when I was younger, but they seemed too expensive to me!
I do have a PC with a capture card (and analogue receiver I think) that a friend gave me to dispose of, and get her files off as it was broken. Tempted to see what it can do

I believe simple USB capture devices with an aerial connection aren't that expensive now so you can record live broadcasts on your laptop at better quality than screen recording.

I use my capture setup to capture set top boxes rather than TV shows/pres/etc, but I use a SCART to HDMI adapter (just one of those generic metal box ones off Amazon) into an Elgato CamLink 4K USB 3.0 capture stick.
I did try directly connecting HDMI to the CamLink at one point, for capturing the output of a SkyHD box (since both the box and the stick are capable of HD), but with everything being all HDCP-compliant the Sky box refused to function because the CamLink doesn't support copy-protected signals.
Luckily most of the stuff I fiddle around with is standard-def anyway, so SCART is fine.

Does this work for all the main catch up services, presumably the live feeds on iPlayer/ITV Hub/All4 etc?
I've only ever tried (by mistake - fat fingers!) on the Sky Go app and it stopped the video feed saying screen recording is disabled in this app.

I use an Hauppage HD PVR 2 for captures. It links to my Sky+HD box through HDMI, and uses ArcSoft for editing.

There is **cough** a way to get around the HDCP on Sky boxes, but not correct to discuss in polite company. 8-)

HDMI is all a bit modern for me anyway, but good to know all the same.

Freeview: Hauppauge WinTV-Dual HD tuner USB, which I record using NextPVR, which is excellent recording software which is browser based.
Everything else is IPTV based using ProgDVB Network Edition.

When I posted the videos I did over the road I did them off the iPlayer with a screen recorder (OBS Studio is my current choice). It served the purpose to highlight what needed highlighting, that was the main point. Wasn't pretty but it didn't require any extra hardware and nobody else was going to bother to capture it so... Any editing was done with Openshot Video Editor.
I used to have a capture card years ago but it involved hooking it up to a video, and capturing that way, it was a pain in the backside. Never had any joy with the USB aerial cards but I dare say coverage may be better now since I recall I couldn't get sod all on an indoor aerial in the bedroom before switchover and now I can. Or I did until I moved everything...

Nowadays, I just use a Hauppauge PCTV tripleStick. I used to use a Hauppauge HD PVR 2 to record off Sky, but the Sky subscription has been cancelled, so it's just gathering dust at the moment. I do have a DVB-S2 PCIe card that I could theoretically use to capture Freesat, but that would require passing the satellite cables through my window and keeping it constantly open, so nah.

I currently use a AGPTEK HD capture card alongside a HDMI splitter to bypass HDCP on the Sky Q box. Intending on upgrading soon however as the quality of audio is poor and usually takes a lot of time in editing to boost/clean. Before hand I used a August DVB 600, I’d highly recommend one if you can get your hands on them (it’s very difficult now a days). A great piece of equipment!

I have an EyeTV Hybrid but it doesn't like some of the multiplexes annoyingly, so if it's SD only sometimes I have to go back to my old EyeTV DTT.

I use a Telestar DIGIBIT R1 HD box which is a SAT>IP receiver - It takes in DVBS/S2 and outputs data over your LAN.
I burnt a firmware called satip-axe (from github) onto it which makes it a bit more usable than the stock firmware.
The DIGIBIT box sends entire transport streams (or TSs filtered by PID if needed) over the LAN to my PC.
I use VLC to view the video/audio/videotext/subs etc. I guess I could point a TS analyser at the stream too if I had a need to.
What it suffers in over-engineering it makes up for in quality, as there's no conversion loss from what was broadcast.
