The BAFTA Television Awards 2022 - DeMarkay - 08-05-2022

I’ve noticed a few teething problems with tonight’s Television BAFTAs.

  • Sound issues
  • Poor edits (when Gogglebox were accepting, there was a jump cut after a speech about Channel 4)

I thought the sound cutting out was on my end, also TVZone posted that News at Ten won one, but at the time on the broadcast they were doing the party interviews and afterwards they went to a different award - are they cutting some out?

I assumed that particular edit was because it got too political. Did Sophie Willan just swear unbleeped or was it me?

Yep she did, along with a poor edit.

I can see they being quite a lot of debate if they have cut parts of speeches due to being seen to be political. I can see and understand both sides of the argument.

This is why events should be live, not on a delay. Odd to have an awards show filmed in the afternoon too.

As such I'll spoiler this:
Looks like It's a Sin go away empty handed despite all the nominations.

Is it just me occasionally seeing some corruption - as much as 1/3 of the screen going green for a couple of frames (watching on Freeview)
EDIT: Whole screen just flashed for about half a second.

Andrew - Andrew - 08-05-2022

I ended up missing the whole thing due to the ridiculously early time slot it was given.

Moving it to 6pm so they can fit in the regular episode of Antiques Roadshow as normal is a bit of a snub to BAFTA
