He needs to move on and deal with the fixture situation that he’s developed with his club’s success. Stuck record syndrome. I'm always really confused when he brings this up. First of all, Des is not the person to be angry with, he has less influence than Jurgen in the fixtures presumably. And I really struggle to see how two and half hours (15:00 the default kick-off time that match should kick-off) is going to make any real difference to anyone. The Cologne coach ahead of their Bundesliga fixture on Friday night was also not happy of their kick-off being moved but losing 19 hours including a whole night is something that makes sense to be unhappy about, but I really don't see why 2.5 hours should be much of an issue. (As an aside, Bundesliga did move the Friday 19:30 kick-offs to Saturday 20:00 after international breaks during last season so not sure why they haven't moved them to another kick-off this season.) He needs to move on and deal with the fixture situation that he’s developed with his club’s success. Stuck record syndrome. I think it's more because of the refusal to change the kick off day/time, two players who played for Brazil on Friday morning (UK time) couldn't play today. Contrast to La Liga where with the same situation, the league postponed matches of some of the club's completely. The Sport Thread - Tom - 16-10-2021 Mark Chapman hosting Match Of The Day tonight as Gary Lineker is ill (not covid related). The Sport Thread - Jonny - 17-10-2021 Tom post_id=47736 time= user_id=1309 Wrote:Mark Chapman hosting Match Of The Day tonight as Gary Lineker is ill (not covid related).Noticed the hill backdrop has been replaced by a stadium and a stylised revolving MOTD ball? Not surprised it didn't last the season. Perhaps the concept was "the season is a long one, like climbing a hill to the top"? But not sure if that's me searching for design meaning. Nice idea to try something different, but it looked very flat and just a bit odd. I'm a bit late catching up… is this just a temporary arrangement for the tournament or do they use Leeds for the whole WTA tour? Who has the contract? (I was fooled enough to believe there were some matches with on-site commentary this year, plus obviously all IMG's stuff for Prime from Stockley Park). Also, apparently ATP Tennis Radio is being discontinued at the end of the season. And one other story I noticed - IMG have hired Barney Francis… The Sport Thread - Jon - 17-10-2021 ITV did premiere new green graphics today, but they seemed incredibly basic and the animation seemed glitchy. Some of the programme can be seen here… https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A4GaJLJU7Ig The Sport Thread - eladkse - 17-10-2021 Those ones they used in the draw itself looked fine... but yes, ITV's surrounding presentation graphics were a bit unreliable and glitchy. They also seemed to be in a different style, despite the shared colour scheme and font. (Which makes sense, as I'm pretty sure the draw graphics are a separate package that just gets reskinned to match the broadcaster who's hosting.) I thought the presentation graphics, for as little as we saw them, were a bit too glossy. The flatter look for the draw looked much nicer. Very reminiscent of what they use for BTCC. The Sport Thread - TIGHazard - 17-10-2021 Miami Dolphins vs Jacksonville Jaguars in London almost goes into OT on BBC Two, and now Sky Sports Mix has a feed of Redzone without sound of commentator Scott Hanson EDIT: After 10 minutes, Scott Hansons voice returns, only for the screen to be black. Breakdown slide for 30 secs or so. The Sport Thread - Brekkie - 17-10-2021 The European Darts Championships clearly using graphics based on the long used ITV ones, but managing to make them look even worse. Too much info on them which makes them even worse. Certainly don't need darts thrown other than if they're on a 9-darter. I’m wondering if the feed of RedZone Sky had at the start is intended for non-English language overseas broadcasters? ISTR there is a German language version now on Dazn in Germany. Not sure if it's long term temporary or a permanent arrangement now, but WTA world feed commentary is all done by DAZN at their Leeds office. Centre Court/featured matches are done from the facilities there and generally outside court commentators work from home, although there are some differences (at least one commentator lives in Leeds so does all of his matches at the office). Not even the UK events were done on site this year. Prime Video do a mixture of world feed and their own thing at WTA 1000 level events. They never take ATP world feed at 100s but rely on it totally for 250 and 500 level events on both sides, apart from those in the UK. They had commentary on site at the US Open for some matches and also Queens and Eastbourne (as were the BBC at those two domestic events) but I don't think they have been anywhere else. You're right about ATP Tennis Radio, they will no longer be running a live stream with commentaries after the end of this season but will continue to make podcasts. The Sport Thread - IanJRedman - 17-10-2021 The scorecard on MotD2 is looking slightly jagged/lacking in resolution - wonder what's happened there? All the other graphics seem OK. The Sport Thread - RhysJR - 19-10-2021 The T20 Men's Cricket World Cup began on Sunday. The graphics seems to be almost identical to the 2019 Men's Cricket World Cup (see below) with colour and background changes to reflect the tournament branding. https://twitter.com/SkyCricket/status/1450099849500712961 https://twitter.com/SkyCricket/status/1450070408900849666 https://twitter.com/india_fantasy/status/1450153195947249665 Also, the USA v. New Zealand rugby union international from Washington DC on Saturday will be on Premier Sports https://twitter.com/PremierSportsTV/status/1450115421709996038 The Sport Thread - RhysJR - 19-10-2021 A change on MOTD2 and MOTD was that there was a new studio background. The abstract hill landcsape has been replaced by a stadium similar to what the previous look was like. I didn't dislike the hills background but can understand the move back to a stadium look which at least can be linked to football rather than an abstact still from the title sequence.
