The Sport Thread - Rdd - 28-04-2021 Didn’t Premier Sports have RFL lower league games much later than 2013 - in 2017 or thereabouts? Could have been just Toronto home games mind you on a separate deal. Think once Toronto got promoted out of that there was an issue as Sky held the rights to the Championship technically but were reluctant to relinquish them, but Premier had signed a deal with Toronto. From memory I think Premier then showed the first year of Toronto in the Championship following the promotion in year one and then Sky the second year The Sport Thread - RhysJR - 28-04-2021 thebigdog2020 post_id=9415 time=1619598803 user_id=1596 Wrote:There was talk on an article I read a couple of weeks ago that some clubs were keen to get Super League regular season matches on the BBC and yesterday as you say it was claimed Premier Sports were in discussions for the Championship games. A line from the BBC's Dave Woods in this article about the deal about that: The Super League clubs had also originally hoped to sell a separate package to a different broadcaster, that would involve 10 live Super League matches broadcast throughout the year with a weekly highlights programme. So sounds like there is another deal out there somewhere possibly. Currently the highlights only deal is with the BBC. Regular season highlights air on Monday nights (around midnight) on BBC One in the North of England before being repeated on BBC Two on Tuesday afternoon and the Red Button. Play-off and Grand Final highlights are generally shown on BBC Two nationally on Sunday evening. If live coverage comes with that deal it would be fantastic, but a half decent timeslot not 48 hours after the last match should be something that must be aimed for IMO. The Yorkshire Post are reporting that that the BBC are likely to pick up that 10 match package https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/exclusive-bbc-to-show-live-betfred-super-league-games-from-next-year-3217039 The Sport Thread - BcastCornwall - 28-04-2021 BT Sport have changed the entire team from last night for tonight's UEFA CL SF coverage owing to a C19 positive test by one of last night's crew. Jake replacing Gary as the presenter. The Sport Thread - commseng - 28-04-2021 madmusician post_id=7801 time=1618784823 user_id=947 Wrote:An interesting error on C4’s F1 highlights programme tonight. The second part of the build-up began with a VT without audio and whilst Steve Jones’ link did have audio, he threw to a VT which was again silent. We then saw a jump back to the start of the part, some rewinding, including a VT clock, and the replaying of the part, this time with all audio present and correct.I've just seen your post regarding the two issues on the Channel 4 highlights programme, and thought that as you've pointed the finger towards Timeline TV, that I ought to just say the following. The outage on the 28th March was a problem further down the line, and the programme left Ealing without any issues. The recordings made at the time for All4 were fine. The issue on the 18th April was one on the edit of the programme, and was completely seperate. Sometimes with a tight turnaround errors can occur, and also in live broadcasting there can be other equipment failures or problems anywhere in the chain. In this case it was unfortunate that it affected the same programme on different weekends. Jake's an obvious sub but some or all of the others may have been booked for tonight anyway. The Sport Thread - BcastCornwall - 28-04-2021 I understood from Jake's explanation, I could have misunderstood though, that the tech crew has been switched too. The replacement going beyond on screen talent. Thanks so much for your clarifications - very interesting to hear the actual story of what happened when, rather than my guesswork! Many thanks again! Good if true, I am a Union man but don't mind Rugby League but Rugby League Super League, ECB, WSL all creating packages to get coverage on free to air especially the BBC and the Women's 6 Nations at the weekend said they want more games televised nationally on the BBC but still question marks over the men's 6 Nations. I'm sure Joe Hart would have been on anyway, regardless of his merits as a pundit he played for City with great distinction for many years and as a current player I'm sure he doesn't need to turn up to these things. It was a pretty decent line-up, all three former City players and two of them were regular BT pundits. The Sport Thread - bkman1990 - 30-04-2021 If anyone is watching the World Snooker Championship SF between Stuart Bingham & Mark Selby on BBC Two. Hazel Irvine has mentioned at the start of tonight's coverage that World Number 1 Judd Trump has just begun his snooker commentary debut with Alan McManus. I expect they'll go big on it with their own football coverage over the weekend too. |
