French TV - London Lite - 25-05-2021 BFMTV this morning was a bit odd with the scheduling of two weather forecasts within a minute of each other, the pre-recorded forecast during the overnight bulletin, then straight into Première Edition with a live forecast a minute later. Even though the channels are on a loop overnight, there's still people in the newsroom news gathering, along with people preparing for the morning shows. Either the 4:30/6:00 shift starts early or the 22:00/00:00 is extended. It's quite rare though for anything major to happen between 00:30 and 4:30. Usually if there's a planned event they'll extend the 22:00/00:00 as needed. Given that all of this former BFM TV personnel has recently joined LCI, I am wondering if the management of TF1 Group is considering refocusing LCI into a hard news format French TV - matthieu1221 - 30-05-2021 Roger Darthwell post_id=15461 time=1622305575 user_id=1160 Wrote:I am wondering if the management of TF1 Group is considering refocusing LCI into a hard news format They are limited by their CSA Convention regarding the number of hard-news hours they can produce a day unfortunately. Not sure if it could be renegotiated but they could potentially argue that CNEWS is no longer a hard news channel and that therefore they can take their place (the limit on hard news was put into place after concerns by BFMTV that there would be too many hard news channels once LCI made the leap into free-to-view TV). In fact there are many aspects of French TV regulation that I still don't really understand, like the one about simulcasts between channels, why Le 6h info is not simulcasted on France Info as well as France 2? Also why don't French TV channels simulcast their news channels in the overnight hours just like BBC One does with BBC News 24 over here?Roger Darthwell post_id=15461 time=1622305575 user_id=1160 Wrote:I am wondering if the management of TF1 Group is considering refocusing LCI into a hard news format French TV - matthieu1221 - 30-05-2021 Roger Darthwell post_id=15547 time=1622368569 user_id=1160 Wrote:why Le 6h info is not simulcasted on France Info as well as France 2? Never knew that France Info TV has the obligations to take simulcasts of radio programmes as well French TV - London Lite - 01-06-2021 As part of the 100 years of radio celebrations in France, Franceinfo gave viewers a look into the tv studio and gallery at Radio France used for the simulcast Franceinfo radio and tv bulletins. https://youtu.be/gkcyGt4WP0E?t=580 French TV - Roger Darthwell - 01-06-2021 London Lite post_id=15906 time=1622580391 user_id=953 Wrote:As part of the 100 years of radio celebrations in France, Franceinfo gave viewers a look into the tv studio and gallery at Radio France used for the simulcast Franceinfo radio and tv bulletins.Great video, and of course Happy 100th Birthday to French radio! What a coincidence that France started radio broadcasting the same year as the UK (it's the BBC's 100th anniversary this year as well!) French TV - matthieu1221 - 06-06-2021 Looks like France24 have just changed not only their weather graphics but the iconic theme too. I haven't found a video of it yet but the channel is streamed on Youtube and the weather is broadcast at the end of every half hour in case someone wants to record it. The newsbar has also become wider but some of the on screen elements have not been modified to match them yet. Also some changes to split screens. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9JV-O1GF6c https://twitter.com/antennes/status/1401206959093829636 French TV - Roger Darthwell - 06-06-2021 matthieu1221 post_id=17046 time=1622971960 user_id=1634 Wrote:Looks like France24 have just changed not only their weather graphics but the iconic theme too.
