The general public would look at you with a blank stare because they would have no idea what you're talking about. This has been shown through research. The TWO curves and the Channel 4 giant on the other hand get recognised by the majority.

Then that surely would have informed the powers that be at bbc one, the flagship channel of aunty Beeb needs to remove oneness numbness or whatever the Beeb call it to go ASAP.

A graph sorry I don’t get what it is it’s just a lot of squares bouncing about maybe it’s for the young folk who will get it.

I think it kind of represents movement, but somewhat feels like they did the other 5 first and had to find something different they could pass off as Sport.

This is all looking really good. The icons and bringing the apps into line is the most exciting thing about this rebrand as these services are the future. Having a clear identity for "the BBC" is a great move and it will be interesting to see where the TV and radio brands settle once all the changes to iPlayer and Sounds is completed.

I don't see what News and Sounds are meant to be. iPlayer is clearly a play icon, Weather is part of the typical depiction of the Sun, Bitesize is books.

I don't quite see a league table for sport.

Sounds, to me, looks like those newfangled "Waveforms" you'd see in illustrations - think the Speaker icon on Windows.

Ditto. As implied by name, I have nothing to do with the BBC but based on what I knew about Chameleon about 6 months ago this is being rolled out as planned (save the rebadged videos from oneness). It was always a 9-12 months rollout, thought through and mapped out, and with sound reasoning behind it.

Well oneness is gone as of tomorrow. In its place you will have a prominent BBC logo (currently entirely absent from the oneness mess) and a less prominent channel name (in line with the constantly reducing importance of a linear channel). And of course there will also be a fluid, slick and modern animation Smile

I do feel that you are being deliberately obtuse here. Surely there’s enough exciting things to talk about without this ridiculous discussion going round in circles. We know that the Oneness pieces of film remain for now with the new logo/channel mark overlaid. There we go, conversation closed.

The key words there being "will start to" and "gradually".

I don’t know why I didn’t see this before, but I now realise why the BBC logo is top-centre on the idents - it’s because this matches the alignment on iPlayer, Sounds, News app etc. So, whatever BBC service you’re consuming, the first thing you’ll always see is the BBC logo top-centre on your screen. Very consistent and clever branding that will build consistency and recognition across all their output.
