At the moment, all we have to work with are SVG icons, possibly optimised for clarity on the web, to align to pixels. Once the logo is in PDF form, or available in a vector form intended for Print, we will have a better guide to examine.
At smaller sizes, the pixel alignment allows for more forgiveness in these alignment issues

To be honest the logo isn't the make or break of this - ultimately I think if BBC1 is successfully refreshed, which it sounds like it will be, the overall rebrand will probably be considered successful, although of course some elements will always work better than others. I just hope the BBC2 curves aren't compromised by the rebrand.
The main issue the blocks will probably face is that the entire cost of the Corporation wide rebrand will probably be attributed to a change in logo which is barely noticeable to most people.

Not all of us got to see that survey lol
But there are some very very slight differences in comparing the Test Website SVG, BBC Select SVG, and a BBC Kids SVG I came across - but they are almost identical.

Just as I said. The channel is changing tact, so it makes sense to have a new BBC Four. Even then, the idents would have changed if the BBC logo was being replaced. You know, re-reading parts of this, I actually went back to the BBC GEL Video that announced the arrival of the Reith Font from 2018 (3 years this year? Time does fly). I had to take a screenshot from the video, because I saw this:
If that image doesn't sum up why this logo is necessary, I don't know what will. Just so many different logos from different eras. BBC Worldwide in the 1997 style. BBC One with its 2006 logo, BBC Two with its 2007 logo, BBC Three with its 2017 logo, BBC Four with its 2002 logo. News, Sport, Weather, Music all in the 1997 style. Just a mess in my opinion.
So, the new logo has been planned three years ago? The current logo have one or two years planned from 1996 to 1997.

The BBC Reith Font was announced 3 years ago. I don't know how long this has been planned, but if its such a big rebrand of the BBC, I would imagine that it would have been a good year or 2 years of R+D

So the likes of BBC News and Sport just gonna be like branded as just "News" and "Sports" or something? With that in mind, I can only imagine how the other brands are gonna be visualised without the BBC Blocks - for example BBC One may be branded as "One" going forward...

I've only seen these icons and colours used for the BBC services, rather than the channel identities - they may well be taking a different approach for them. Looking forward to finding out!

A completely new theme based on said sonic identity would be very nice.
