Also is this tournament being offered in UHD on linear TV in other parts of the world?

In France both TF1 and M6 are showing their respective games in 4K on Bouygues and Orange set-top boxes (23 games in total).

Bein Sport is showing 45 games in 4K on Orange and Canal+ set-top boxes and on the MyCanal OTT app on multiple devices.

Having only seen a few minutes the late Euros already seems a much better show than Save Our Summer.

ESPN (USA) Euro 2020 scorebar, as usual, they take some elements from the standard UEFA graphics package & put their own flair to it...

Nice opening titles for ITV with Michael Kiwanuka for the theme music, and a very nice studio too. Including a backdrop with the view they would've had from their Tower Bridge studio had the Euros gone ahead as planned last year.

Euro 2020 (+1) - Jon - 11-06-2021

I only saw the beginning of the match, seem to be using the official scorebar template with the competition logo, at least on highlights. The team sheet graphics are quite nice and are very ‘ITV at a major tournament’ as they always try and do something a bit different.

Is the ITV studio in Maidstone in the same size as they had it for the RWC coverage in Japan?

Itv sport euros: Visuals for the titles are nice, music forgettable, studio absolutely magnificent, graphics well a bit meh really.

You’d imagine so, unless they’re using a different studio.

I think ITV’s graphics and studios win out this time. Just all looks a bit cleaner and smarter. Haven’t seen the titles yet though. With the BBC studio there is just too much going on. I wonder if they’ll also have different backdrops depending on the location of their live games?

How are highlights rights decided between BBC and ITV? Do they both get to show any game they want or is there limitations?

Euro 2020 (+1) - TVFan - 11-06-2021

Peter Crouche’s show doesn’t air until 10.30pm on Sunday. It would make sense to air it straight after the match, surely? So it can’t be completely live.

Generally whoever doesn't show the last match of the day does show a highlights show that day.

i.e. ITV show the 20:00 kick-off on Saturday and Sunday and BBC show highlights with BBC showing Monday's 20:00 kick-off with highlights on ITV.

I imagine there’s a world feed with some English commentators I think Peter Drury but I am not sure.

Why wouldn't it be live?

Two obvious reasons why it wouldn't be after the England match is that it's clearly a post-watershed show and after the England match is another match on ITV, as is the case until ten o'clock.

The BBC and ITV studios look pretty similar to me, apart from ITV's seemingly being about four times the size - to my mind, to little effect.

Yes, and both broadcasters have the rights to the whole tournament so can show what they like of it. If they wanted to both channels could show every match live.

Although I know the BBC has decided to show the odd knock out game that was meant to be an ITV match in the past. I think they have a pretty strict agreement now to prevent the other from doing that?
