Sue back being a continuity announcer again!

Using a scrolling ticker style to relay such a short message is a bit odd, would be better as a fixed graphic in my opinion

They're also putting it on too early, the programme had already started on BBC Two by the time it had come up. They need to put it while the trailers are being shown on BBC Two. If they can't get the timings right then they should get network to do it instead.

No EPG updates again this evening, it really is poor but then with the scheduling they have set themselves up to fail.

Is it still technically possible to talk to one channel to welcome them, and then talk to the other channel to tell them to switch over separately, and do court wide shots separately as well, rather than doing it both at once, I’m sure it used to be?

That's kind of happens at 6pm the last two days, with Sue saying farewell to viewers on BBC One and Clare announcing the change of match on BBC Two.

Quite hard to believe that after two days, Clare has been on air for around two minutes and none of that in-vision. With her doing the highlights only the last few Olympics it seems ages since I last saw her present anything.

RE: Wimbledon 2022 - dvboy - 28-06-2022

Clare has just been on BBC Two out-of-vision to say they are staying with this match and then there will be a Today at Wimbledon of some sorts if they have time once it ends.
Newsnight has been moved to 23:00 again according to the EPG which has actually been updated now.

RE: Wimbledon 2022 - telebox2001 - 28-06-2022

So Panorama has been shunted to BBC Two, in turn sliding the schedule by 30 minutes, but Sherwood goes on, this time on One, presumably since it's not Murray/Raducanu.

Meanwhile viewers have shunted from Two, to One and then back to Two.

I appreciate the regional news causes major issues that didn't exist 25 years ago when you just throw the lot onto Two, but would it just not make more sense to block 7-10pm out and if TAW gets on air, it gets on air on One.

I think you need to remain consistent and have a plan you can stick to regardless of whether Murray, Raducanu or my dog is on centre court.

Then all you need is provision in the later rounds to shift the national Six to Two if AM/ER's games demand it. Regionals get an upsummer on between matches and have a longer late bully - they're the only immovable object when it comes down to it.

Why's nobody thought of this?

The EPG now reckons that Newsnight will be at 11:30pm

RE: Wimbledon 2022 - Brekkie - 28-06-2022

Don't they have to pack up at 11pm?

Yes, I think 11pm is the cut off time at Wimbledon.

RE: Wimbledon 2022 - telebox2001 - 28-06-2022

Does that still stand now there's a roof?

RE: Wimbledon 2022 - Omnipresent - 28-06-2022

Yes, the 11pm curfew is set by Merton Borough Council. Though they have said in the past there is a "common sense" approach where matches are close to finishing just after 11pm.

RE: Wimbledon 2022 - UTVLifer - 29-06-2022

I wonder if they might start bringing Clare on a little bit earlier in the evening, so that she actually gets used for more than for about 2 minutes worth of links out-of-vision like the last two days

The EPG was wrong, btw.

Well that is what they had been doing the last few years but bringing in Isa for the early shift has cut that out with Sue staying on later.
