Cheers didn't know that but point about the geo blocking but the point still stands, GAA sold the rights to Sky Sports not BBC NI like it used to be.

Were All-Ireland Series games ever with BBC NI? They had been with Premier Sports for some time in the previous couple of deals before Sky first picked up rights and I do remember that at one point the finals were on Channel 4, but that was back in the 1980s/90s. BBC NI (and before that UTV) had separate deals for the Ulster Football Championship only, done locally by the Ulster GAA, quite apart from the main rights sale. The BBC might have had some rights to the final before that mind you.

This comes up virtually every time an NI team are in the All Ireland Final, by the way, and sometimes other years. Here’s virtually the same article but look at the date (2017!). There wasn’t even an NI team in the final that year!

Article also mentions that BT Sport set to show The Ashes this winter if they go ahead (hasn't been officialy, officialy confirmed but was buried in another BT Sport press release if I recall). And FIFA's survey saying everyone wants a World Cup every two years were heavily spun (I am schocked!!) and the endgame maybe to have a global Nations League with the profits going to FIFA rather than the current European version being profited by UEFA.
