If it’s important, get hold of a device that can handle 50/60p. Seeing as both devices are fine with 50/60fps streaming through the iPlayer and the ITV Hub as well as YouTube, and Roku has other apps that also do 50/60, it presumably isn't a hardware issue, it seems more like a case of Amazon not making the 50/60fps streams available to those platforms for some reason. It was the same on a Samsung Smart TV last time I tried as well, though I don't have access to one right now to see if it's still the same. The Sport Thread - AJB39 - 11-09-2021 I’m getting occasional picture break-up on Channel 4 HD. The picture stutters, then goes black before coming back. It’s happening every few minutes, very irritating! The Sport Thread - London Lite - 11-09-2021 I've been watching on Prime Video and it's been rock solid with no picture break up. Channel 4 have done them a huge favour by taking the strain from Amazon's servers. The Sport Thread - James2001 - 11-09-2021 Going by the fact we're only into the second game and it just keeps going, I think we're in for a long night! Yes, I'm watching on the PC and it's 1080p/50fps compared to the 25fps when I briefly put on C4 HD on Freeview. It's all very well Amazon being able to stream a 1080p50 stream, but it's entirely possible it's originated in 1080i59.94 and being transmitted via a 1080i50 studio facility. Even then it's still better being streamed in 50p than 25p! But this SVG article discusses NEP's supplementary trucks being capable of 1080p, so... Technically 50i is 25fps though if you want to be nitpicky ;-) The Sport Thread - Brekkie - 11-09-2021 Well that was a deal worth doing. Amazing achievement. Will be interesting to see if Amazon release any figures - I don't believe they have so far. The Sport Thread - Josh - 11-09-2021 It looks like Ms Raducanu may have saved Channel 4 from being privatised. |
