That's a good idea. They did the same for England's matches for Euro 1996, I can remember listening to the penalty shoot out in the Spain match on my car radio via BBC Berks Euro 2020 (+1) - Jon - 11-07-2021 Markymark post_id=27136 time=1626008744 user_id=1078 Wrote:Yes and with their being no ‘BBC Radio England’ unlike for the other nations, it makes sense to use local radio for that purpose.Jon post_id=27105 time= user_id=1050 Wrote:I notice tonight’s game will have an FM radio presence in England on BBC Local Radio taking 5 Live’s coverage. Euro 2020 (+1) - AnthonyW - 11-07-2021 The same was also done for the World Cup semi-final in 2018. John Murray made a point of greeting BBC Local Radio listeners that night during the commentary. Euro 2020 (+1) - Kunst - 11-07-2021 Question: we can expect new Love Island at 10pm (not that I watch it anyway), to be moved to slightly later, in the case the match finishes late? They’ll also be an hours build up from Wembley on Radio 1, although not the actual match. That might help prevent this happening tonight :o https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/man-caught-watching-england-game-20998181 Euro 2020 (+1) - steely12 - 11-07-2021 The Wimbledon men's singles final looks potentially as if it'll go into 4 sets at least at the moment, so perhaps BBC One won't start Euros final coverage until 7pm. Pretty sure the Euros coverage will begin when scheduled, whatever happens at Wimbledon. JAS84 post_id=27158 time= user_id=881 Wrote:Huh? It WAS an hour late (10pm instead of 9pm) on Wednesday. Yes, but the point being made is that it wasn't pushed back still further when it went to extra time. Euro 2020 (+1) - Brekkie - 11-07-2021 So the important battle of the tournament - BBC v ITV. I think both have been rather good and the difference between them is negligible nowadays. ITV win on the titles and theme IMO, but BBC on the studio, both their main studio and Wembley effort. Not been keen on the ITV astons and graphics though - something a bit more colourful to match the intros would have been better. Mark Pougatch is very good but ITV can't compete against the BBC's strength upfront with Lineker, Logan and Chappers. Pundit wise I think the flagship ITV team are better than Shearer, Ferdinand and Lampard, but the BBC's line up beyond that wins it for me. Commentary is where both sides let themselves down, especially in co-commentary. Tyldesley and McCoist undoubtedly the best combination but playing a bit-part role, whilst with the BBC it's inoffensive but unremarkable so pretty much a 0-0 draw there. Overall the BBC have the edge, and they'll have a clear win tonight, but really we're fortunate to have quality products from both sides. Euro 2020 (+1) - onetrickypony - 11-07-2021 Roy Keane is always a hoot. Euro 2020 (+1) - Markymark - 11-07-2021 I think the two studios are behind Gabby Logan's head right now. ITV's closer to the goal than the Beeb's Are RAI (or whoever in Italy has the rights) doing on site pres? Euro 2020 (+1) - AnthonyW - 11-07-2021 The trophy was in the BBC studio to start, but has now gone - has it hopped over to ITV? Euro 2020 (+1) - Markymark - 11-07-2021 If you have Sky Q, remember you can watch any other channel in the now and next preview 'lower third'. I've got ITV in 'preview' Euro 2020 (+1) - Medianext.MX - 11-07-2021 Markymark post_id=27231 time= user_id=1078 Wrote:I think the two studios are behind Gabby Logan's head right now.
