I'm also aware that they have added another 3 idents to this list. All shot in the South East of England...
The nations still not happy, but as i've said, more will be added as time goes on.

From what I can gather, they weren't happy because all of the original new idents were filmed in the London area only.

Nations weren't happy with the new idents as they were all filmed in London and the surrounding areas... and it's noticeable on screen. It sounds daft, but houses, fences, streets etc in England don't look the same in Scotland, Wales, NI.

Well this does sound interesting. I have one question for those that have seen the new BBC1 idents. Do you like them?
I'll always prefer logos that can be manipulated over live action with a logo slapped over it. But if it's live action and something dynamic is done with it, that's okay.

Oneness launched immediately after New Year about 12.30am. Circles launched at 10am, as I think Rhythm and Dance did. IIRC the Balloons launched on a Saturday morning, as did the 1991 globe famously before Live and Kicking. I think the 1985 COW actually launched in the evening.
I’m also hoping that this initial ‘all idents filmed in London’ won’t cause such a stink that it tarnishes the whole package for good. I’m sure half the dislike of Oneness was caused by Sea Swimmers and Exercise Class, and if a bigger set including some of the later ones were all in place at the start they wouldn’t have ended up with such a negative reaction.

I’d have thought the usual critics of the BBC, such as the Daily Mail and the Express, wouldn’t be too bothered that the new idents represent their heartland more than far-flung corners of the country they don’t care about too much.
I also don’t remember much being made in the media about the initial Oneness idents being solely based in the West of England.
So I think we’re fairly safe.
