Wow indeed. Trying to stay away from presenter talk, I've watched B100D and World News America for a while and her presenting is rock solid. Will be interesting to see if Beyond stays with another presenter... it wont be the same though.

TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't ever get replaced or even can't be replaced. The core NBH sets were installed, IIRC, around late-2011/early-2012 meaning that many of the parts are about a decade old - I imagine quite a few parts have gone out of production and finding spares may be difficult. Even if they can replace it, I doubt it would be a priority. Not just with Covid, but in terms of cost/benefits. I expect that the people in charge of maintenance have decided that it isn't worth taking Studio C off air for hours to replace and calibrate a single LED strip that isn't even particularly noticeable or in one of the main lightboxes. If it is replaced, I imagine it will be done the next time that Studio C is undergoing a maintenance day.
It's also worth noting that, while I doubt that the sets are going to be replaced soon, they have almost certainly entered the latter half of their lives. At this point you are just going to see them get slowly more battered, with piecemeal repairs and the occasional hardware failure. While I expect this will lead to hundreds of commenters calling the sets tired, you have to remember that - in its current financial and political state - BBC News will need to prove that investing in new sets is necessary before they can be replaced. I'd also add that all the NBH sets are in a far better state now than the TVC sets were at the end - TC7 was visibly knackered even in SD and N8 was about 25% gaffer tape. For a studio that has been in near-24 hour use for nearly 8.5 years, Studio C's set is in fairly good shape.

Also from watching Studio C at various points and seeing the pictures. That contentious grill for me resenbles an air duct. So why put lighting there in the first place. It would look better without the LED lights.

Would be different if it was more spread out and was slightly more relevant, such as "Rolling coverage of *insert horrible event here* is coming from C with XYZ, good coverage so far however the lightstrip is flickering again"
Very different compared to "It's STILL broken" and carries the undertone of "Why the HELL have OUR BBC not fixed this yet?!?!?!?!".
It doesn't contribute to discussion.
