Well, they do.
But I'm sure the "I think it's funny/I don't think it's funny" discussion each week got pretty tedious on the last series thread when there's plenty to talk about from a presentation point of view. Particularly this week with the ITV franchises discussion and also the new updated theme tune which is making Alan paranoid that they're looking to make changes.
Also, a slight easter egg in the CGI recreation of Alan's house during the filmed report. The street sign read "King Road" which is the road name he made up when he was stopped by the police for stealing a traffic cone in IAP1.

We said the same. The series from the late 90s in the hotel were actually funny. This series gets the thumbs down ?

The Gibbons obviously aren't afraid of revisiting the past as the appearance of Joe Beazley demonstrates.
This series is kind of a combination of past Partridge vehicles -it's him presenting a programme (as he did on KMKY or Mid Morning Matters), but there's also a regular documentary style section (like Anglian Lives etc) and also a bit of showing him off screen (like I'm Alan Partridge).

That is bizzare. You'd have thought Baby Cow or the BBC would have copyrighted the image and catchphrases for merchandise use of Alan Partridge long before now.
Last nights episode was probably the best episode of This Time. Lovely verbal gags, hidden back references, and subtle production references for those watching closely.
Case in point. The archive footage of Joe Beasley on KMKY. They could have used the original broadcast footage for the pre-interview, but no.
For that 'lazy and complacent research' look, they sourced some it from a low quality You Tube video. Exactly, how a cheaply knocked up package would be produced in a hurry on The One Show.

Although some of the merchandise they were selling they could probably still sell....the T-shirt with Dundee in the Toblerone font for example. The Linton Travel Tavern design is nice, shame they didn't do it as a poster

Yes, I did like that bit, but come on TVL fact checkers, there was a glowing error. 1970s TV Times, and Central TV listings! ? :twisted:

I spotted it, and thought it's feasible that it was Alan's mistake because he was reading a Midlands edition of the TV Times and therefore the main section (as he said, he hadn't got to the regional variations yet), so just got the name wrong. Had he been reading the regional variations his mistake would be less forgivable.

Fair point! real hard core stuff, what date in the 70s was that schedule from?
Mention of New Faces (would have been V1. 0 with Derek Hobson) puts it in a five year window, 1973 to 78

Alan is holding a doctored version of this page from 1970:

However, in Alan's copy "Hot Spell" is replaced by "New Faces" and in place of News they've squeezed in "The Sweeney". There's also a programme that seems to be called "Kung Fu" in Alan's copy. Presumably it was doctored to support some material which ended up on the cutting room floor.
Also Alan can be heard saying "Armchair Theatre" rather than "Saturday Night Theatre", presumably as it's more familiar which makes it a bit funnier.
