More recommendations about European football popping up on YouTube for me.

Interesing to see the Amazon Prive Video France Ligue 1 coverage using the same music as the Amazon Prime Video UK Premier League coverage uses. Of course the singer of the song is French.

And the new style Bundesliga intros:

Seen this from a YouTube channel that posts intros, not sure how true it is

Quote:I believe UEFA is "modifying" the new Intro that was used in the draw.
I noted that during the first leg of playoffs was used last season Intro in most broadcasters around the world just sponsors changed.
Fans asked for Ronaldo and Messi to be included and they probably listened. Hopefully.

And minor rights news that St Johnstone's UECL Qualifier tomorrow evening follows Rangers on the BBC Scotland channel.

BT Sport to broadcast 2021 Caribbean Premier League Cricket, BT previously broadcast the tournament before 2016 when Dave got the rights and if I am remembering correctly has been on Sky Sports Cricket since.

BT seem to be building up a nice portfolio of Cricket with New Zealand & West Indies Domestic Seasons with the broadcaster at present and the rumour is an extension for the Australian Cricket Season and BBL from this winter onwards.

I bet there was a last minute edit to that. Weak theme though - just goes absolutely nowhere.

British MotoGP live on ITV on Sunday at 12.30pm then Extreme E live at 4.30pm. Overlaps with Live Touring Cars on ITV4 at the same time.

Busy times for ITV. Looks like the MotoGP has bespoke presentation too, unlike their coverage of the French GP earlier in the year which just used world feed with a few special links recorded.

Great to see increased coverage of rugby's Premier15s this season. Last season for context had one match per round live on the official website (and the RFU YouTube for most of the season). Maybe a shame there's no proper broadcaster to give it a larger platform but at least there's in depth coverage available, and for free.

You may have seen my post yesterday about the Caribbean Premier League T20 on BT Sport but interesting quote on the BT Press Release as reported on another forum and something I completely missed.

Rachel Knight, director of sports rights, BT Sport, said: “BT Sport’s line-up continues to grow as we show more world-class cricket to fans across the UK. “The Caribbean Premier League will kick off an exciting period for cricket lovers on BT Sport, as we exclusively broadcast the 2021/22 men’s and women’s Ashes in addition to England’s tour of the West Indies in early 2022.”

So BT Sport retain Cricket Australia contract and The Ashes this winter

Looks like Jermaine Jeans will be more involved in BTs Europa league coverage this season, even possibly taking over as host, if Jake Humphrey takes over as Champions League host.

UEFA Champions League Draw (and Awards) using new intro with Chelsea lifting the trophy at the end. Same style of intro and same graphics as last rights cycle still in use. Very rare that UEFA haven't revamped everything.

They also haven't revamped how speedy and exciting the draw and awards ceremony is though.

Might explain why he took Mon-Wed on The One Show when you'd have thought he'd be doing punditry/comms on Champions League nights.

Technical problems on BBC Scotland channel in the middle of Alashkert v. Rangers just now. Match suddenly went to a test card with beep for 30 seconds or so before then cutting to the Reporting Scotland studio with a random man and woman standing around the desk. The theme played, some lower third graphics animated on and off before the football cut back in after a minute or two.

I agree with how slow the draw is, I wish they would cut out the chatter and stick to the job in hand.

Also, I notice the cricket highlights is on BBC4 tonight at 7pm, due to the diamond league coverage on BBC2.

For the record, a 90 minute broadcast with six people presenting/drawing. The previous round's draw (a little smaller but still not much more needed) had one person and lasted less than 10 minutes. Can't wait to see an FA Cup draw, the height of efficiency with some chat but a swift draw nevertheless.

The draw sees Manchester City and Liverpool play one night and Manchester United and Chelsea play on the other presumably. Ignoring the ethics of Group A (bar Brugge), a good selection of big name ties across the competition featuring English teams or otherwise. All live on BT Sport (GBR & IRL) and LiveScore (for the first time), RTÉ & Virgin Media (IRL) of course.
