BBC Two and Four could have gone back to normal programmes to offer a choice, considering the public pay for these.
ITV showing the documentaey at this time on ITV is fine, as ITV2, 3, 4 and Be are programmes as usual.
Sky One is showing the Philip documentary and Sky News is in full coverage mode. This is fine, and the other Sky channels are on regular programmes, offering great choice.

I don’t quite understand Martine’s point. He may know the protocol but why does that mean he can’t question it?
I know many of my employers policies and procedures but that doesn’t mean I agree with all of them, I don’t see the difference?

IIRC, it was a very different arrangement of the National Anthem that night. I remember it being on YouTube a long time ago but it appears to have been lost.

I'm not sure why he's being attacked for "showing his true colours" when he's just expressing an opinion that's not really offensive, just saying he'd like other stories to be covered too, which millions in this country are doubtlessly thinking as well.
It's not as if his opinions on wall-to-wall royal coverage aren't known after his comments on the royal baby coverage.

Forgive me if this comes across as disrespectful, I really don’t intend it to be but, suspending normal programming today, across the BBC and ITV (and their sister channels) is a bit of a p*sstake. I totally understand that we need our national outlets to inform us, but for those who don’t have access to streaming services/internet - I really feel for them. They’re being bombarded with wall-to-wall coverage. Thank goodness we have Channel 4.

London and Meridian shared the same live point at Windsor Castle with different reporters.
ITV News London appears to be the only region where they didn't use the generic Buck House backdrop, Charlene White presented the bulletin as a OB from there instead.
