In my mind I thought the gauze would come out draped back to cover up the newsroom behind Studio E no idea why I imagined it like that though.
I think it should have been done in Studio C with the black background on the screens or maybe the mothballed Studio B.

Does anyone else think that we may get an airing of the National Anthem before handover to BBC News tonight like they did when Diana died? I know they didn’t do it when the Queen Mother died, but then the simulcast coverage didn’t last as long as it has today.

Having the coverage on BBC One and BBC News would be enough by now.
BBC Two and Four could have gone back to normal programmes to offer a choice, considering the public pay for these.
ITV showing the documentaey at this time on ITV is fine, as ITV2, 3, 4 and Be are programmes as usual.
Sky One is showing the Philip documentary and Sky News is in full coverage mode. This is fine, and the other Sky channels are on regular programmes, offering great choice.

The National Anthem only played for the very first announcement since BBC One joined the newsroom.

I wouldn't say he's showing his "true colours" by disagreeing with scheduling decisions made by his former employer when he has the full right to express those views now, and has the full right to disagree.
