It feels as though I can write the script before I've seen it. I know it's a bulletin with limited time but just because it's a news digest doesn't mean it can't innovate and surprise. I think this was the case before the current news cycle too, so not just linked to their war coverage.
I think some of the media are being a bit too flippant in their attitude in terms of these bulletin reports. Many are standing there as if they are standing over Hyde park. I find it somewhat bizarre and out of touch. They have people on the actual ground. That’s all they need. The whole country is at war. I think a similar debate took place a few days ago but just adding my piece.

Standing on a balcony reading the autocue saying “Lyse many thanks, Lyse Doucet there” isn’t adding much compared to Clive Myrie’s time, where he was right in the thick of it, and giving a real sense of what it is like there.

I think Reeta shares the same level of seniority as Clive within BBC News which is why she’s been sent there too. But there’s just a complete lack of common sense. Reeta is not a war reporter. She’s great at what she does (news presenter, and occasionally reporting on domestic events), but unfortunately, not this. Surely Ben Brown would have been a more obvious choice if they wanted a “BBC One face” to relieve Clive?

Exactly. I think it's all to do with the presenter and although the relative safety of Lviv, until recent days at least, isn't as impactful as being in a bunker in Kyiv, plus the fact perhaps a bit of viewer fatique is setting in, is partly to blame it's not the issue with other presenters that it is with Reeta.
That said we still have to remember they are doing a job that most people would be hesistant to do, and we can't assume all within BBC News are willing to head to Ukraine and nobody should be there who doesn't want to be on the ground at the moment.

Maybe they're finally realising they can't keep broadcasting lies.
Also, we know there are tighter than normal restrictions in place for domestic media as well as foreign media. An article posted in the RT thread said they could only report exactly what the Russian Ministry of Defence wanted them to.
Finally, these company executives will also start to see their lifestyles affected by the sanctions too.
All these things combined might just prove too much. We'll never know for sure unless they speak out.

Whenever we hear this on the tv news (and it must be going on on itv too since we do not watch bbc news), we always add ‘ for that is your name’.
