Do you reckon today might be the last day of the Oneness idents? I'm not sure at this point to be honest. They always seem to find their way back in some form or other. I imagine they might stay until BBC Three's relaunch (at the latest).

Off-topic slightly, but I’m assuming that BBC2’s Christmas idents will air around the same time today, and they’ll be recycling the past 3 years’ worth and not introducing anything new? Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere.

There has been no indication they'll be any new BBC2 idents so it looks like it'll be the same set. If we're lucky we might get an addition or two - and worth remembering generally speaking when they have added to the BBC2 set, both regular and Christmas, it's usually debuted on screen rather than been teased beforehand.
I do like the idea of for Christmas having some connection between the BBC1 and BBC2 idents - could quite imagine an ident with ther sheep being hearded into a pen, crammed in in such a manner to have the curve dividing them.

Yes, but we don't know if the new idents are ready yet. We'll have to find out after Christmas.

Still ridiculous not to use them just because none had yet been filmed in the nations. After all I suspect all these ones were made in Bristol. Indeed suspect virtually all the Christmas idents over the years have been made in England.

I’m prepared to be pleasantly surprised, but I strongly suspect we might have to wait a bit longer to see the back of the Oneness idents.
Having the end of October, November and December to plan and shoot extra versions in the nations would limit the potential scope of them due to lack of daylight and bad weather, especially if they’re to be shot outside. And if they’re not outside, then they’re unlikely to be recognisable as somewhere outside England.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re waiting until the Spring to produce new ones.

Worth nothing that all channels will have Christmassy end credit squeezes. Actual moving snow! Looks lovely!

Nice about the end credits but shame there’s no new ident. It’s the best ident package out there and deserving of a new Christmas ident each year. Just seems lazy recycling the same ones, good as they are.
