The LTA have announced that there will be a change GB's Billie Jean King Cup tie against Mexico on Saturday, starting at 11:30 instead of 12:00 with the second match not before 16:15.
I have the broadcast details which you can probably guess but for reasons I don't understand they are embargoed until Friday morning.

Premiership rugby has announced that, due to the kick off times being changed, the Newcastle Falcons home match, which has been switched to 17:00 Kick off, will now not be shown live on Channel 5. Instead, it'll be the Exeter Chiefs home game, kicking off at 12:30, which is the live Channel 5 match. The Falcons game is still live on BT Sport.

The broadcasters and kick-off times for the Champions Cup and Challenge Cup semi-finals also confirmed today. Unsurprisingly, the all-French match is the one shown on Channel 4/Virgin Media TV. Not entirely sure how benifitial that will be for them, but the realtively poor performance of the English teams haven't left much for the three British & Irish broadcasters in the main competition.

VMTV have had only one game involving an Irish team this season (Leinster v Northampton). Granted it there was just two pool stage games this year but I just can’t see them continuing on with the Heineken Cup under this arrangement. As I said before, these rights are valueless to them without the Irish team participation. They put last weekends game on VM Two up against ITV Racing ( Grand National day mind you, although the game was over when the National itself started) on VM One, so that shows you where their priorities lie.

Worthwhile noting that owing to Porto's matches in the UEFACL being relocated due to Portugal's C19 protocols that both legs of the Chelsea - Porto QF has been relocated to Seville in Spain. As a result the match is not in 4K. BT Sport have instead picked up 4K coverage from Paris for the second leg of their tie with Bayern, a very rare move.

Massive news in Latin America: Disney has lost the rights to the UEFA club championships to WarnerMedia Latin America. Although the initial off the record reports suggested that the rights would be exclusive to Mexico, it is now reported to encompass the entire Latin American region, including a renewal of its existing contract in Brazil (which includes a sublicensing deal with SBT). AT&T is set to confirm the transaction in the next few days.
WarnerMedia is now seeking to expand its TNT Sports brand through the entire region, already being present in Brazil (where it broadcasts the UEFA club championships, the Serie A, some Brasileirão matches, and other minor sports), Argentina and Chile (being the official domestic rights holder for their respective leagues). It is also the preferred bidder for the acquisition of the Mexican Fox Sports channels, which are being divested by Disney as a condition of their merger with 21st Century Fox, after Mediapro was forced out of the bidding process due to mounting pressures by other bidders, mostly regarding the Téléfoot fiasco.

Having a look at BBC One's schedules for the weekend, I've noticed that MOTD is followed by a separate FA Cup Highlights show, in a 14 minute slot. I know that the MOTD brand is sometimes used for other competitions (eg MOTD Live for the Euros and the World Cup), but is there something contractual which says that the FA Cup has to stand alone, and can't be in the same programme as the Premier League?

No, but the Premier League coverage is only available on iPlayer for seven days, whereas the FA Cup can be made available for 30 days - so doing it this way means the FA Cup coverage is still available after the Premier League coverage has expired. It will be seamless on screen, of course.

The new Champions League format is set to be agreed on Monday. Despite opposition from fans I suspect it's just a formality and imagine the rights will go out to tender soon after, though be interesting how it affects broadcasters interest. Clearly changes are always designed to bring in more broadcast revenue but for me it seems a riskier proposition to bid aggressively for under the new format - more games, but possibly more meaningless games.
