YouTube Gold - Neil Jones - 16-04-2021

The mid 2000s were full of questions that we all wanted answers to, like this important one:

(from 64 seconds in. Silly fight aside, its been just over nine years since TV Burp finished!)

I still love his send up of Britney appearing on the X Factor.

Some interesting footage of the behind-the-scenes workings from Granada Rentals, during the early-1990s:

Intriguing! A few clues in that video suggest it's more like 1994/1995 rather than 1990 as mentioned in the title... that said, everything seems a lot more old skool than I remember...

Has to be later than 1990 seeing as the CD-i 450 wasn't released until 1994.

The logo on the Tesco carrier bag you can see someone carrying as well, that didn't appear until around 1991/92-ish even though they'd been using that logo since the late 80s (and they kept that logo on the bags until late 1997 even though it had been changed in 1995).

It's from that period where Sky One would show US game shows in the morning anyway - that's Classic Concentration on the telly at 5:30.

LWT closes down at half 2 one Saturday night in 1982, and Gordon's Alive, who's that doing the epilogue?

Well might have a problem if he was working for TVS in 1981. Wink

As of 2001 was at Screen Shop and Travel Channel, though both of these don't exist now. Google suggests he may be on Radio 4. Which still exists. Smile

It's the summer of 1997 and down at Westcountry, it's either the automated cameras going loopy, or Bracken giving us the weather.

Not being rude, and different times- but I can't see Bracken being hired for her metrological knowledge. After all, it's not every day you get minimum of 26c in the afternoon is it. :|

Wonder where she is now? Nuclear physics analyst?

Edit- BLIMEY. Google her name and up comes a local paper piece on going on a journey....It must having all going on at Westcountry... and rabbit hole I didn't want to go down.

That should be 'Malcolm Brown closing Granada down for that evening in 1981' Smile
Although, given the rather ponderous padding with long pauses and left field ad lobbing that seriously drift to nowhere, seemingly to hit the clock dead on 1.40am, makes you wish the cord had been cut to Quay Street on a permanent basis!

Orange didn't launch till March of 1994.
