I was the biggest L&K fan and stuck with it to the end out of loyalty (very silly of me!), but it's very clear that it should have ended when Zoe & Jamie left.

Interesting article on 1990 franchise round. Had TVS been awarded the franchise, would the HBO TV series and movies be shown on the station (as “A TIME WARNER ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY”)?

Well the clipping suggests TSW only owned a fifth of that consortium, so whoever owned the other 80%... Though they had bigger problems when they lost their licence anyway, and started a beef with the ITC in the process.
And TVS had many fingers in pies in the 1980s, already owning MTM Enterprises (not to any great financial success it has to be said) and maybe the HBO deal cojld have saved their bacon... Debatable, but we'll never know so...

Barcodes description of 'giving them loads of money' isn't quite right, they were going to invest in the company - they were new shareholders
£15 million sounds a lot but an injection of £15 million by Time Warner and another by DMGT and that's still £20 million less than TVS would have had to have paid per year to Ofcom
