I've not seen one for ages but that was a fairly normal thing on C4 HD - ads for TfL and London Assembly type things going out nationally

Interesting article here from RedBee regarding C4 renewing their contract and moving to a software only cloud based playout solution. Also splitting channels between W12 and Salford which might explain why More 4 and E4 didn't have problems.

It does still happen, if so it tends to happen more so in the daytime.

I read that as meaning all of C4's channels, rather than specifically C4, but it's a bit vauge.

If anything you'd expect anything new and fangled to be rolled out on the sibling channels first, before applying the same to the flagship!

Brekkie post_id=27893 time= user_id=976 Wrote:Secondly and more seriously could this be a cyber attack? Channel Nine was crippled by one a couple of months back and the effects were on going for weeks, whilst several local US channels have been attacked in recent weeks too and basically had to go back to basics running things manually and unable to communicate by internal email etc. This looks very similar from what has been said here.
Unlikely as everything else kept running - the other C4 channels and everything else that their playout provider broadcasts. Although there will be some seperation between the various broadcasters they work for there will be some bits that are shared

I think there's some irony with them freezing on an All4 promo.

Needs Fourscore 2. I am sure one of our people here can, and probably will dub some audio over this video soon. If not, I will Smile

When was normality restored then?

Channel 4 Breakdown - Josh - 15-07-2021

Fully restored at 10pm out of This Way Up. Idents were back up earlier (8:45 I believe) but with no continuity.

Idents and trailers were back at 9.45, after Grand Designs, but with no announcements. They were back at 10.30.
