ITV News - Stuart - 08-04-2021 Even my Sister knows that the ITV News set is fake, and she is intellectually challenged at the best of times. (One Summer she said she wished she was in Australia as it would be Christmas.) 8-) The only people who think it's real are also the ones who call to complain that the GMB clock on ITV+1 is wrong. :? At this point in time, yes, more expensive definitely, but we have already seen with the technology in the last 20 years, that you achieve basically the same effect with screens. BBC News N6 & TC7 back in the day for example. There isn't really anything the current ITV News virtual studio setup is doing that different right now. If anything, it's doing less than the original 1993 BBC News virtual studio did, and overall, the fact that it looks more realistic than the BBC News one ever did, isn't really relevant. The new technology will become cheaper, I expect Doctor Who to start looking into this soon as a way of creating alien landscapes again, within the next few years. News studios however, I expect will return to real sets in that time. Yes, that is a bold prediction, and I'm not afraid to be wrong about it. Would the person in question by any chance be the TV Live Forum's equivalent of Scrappy Doo from the Scooby-Doo series, or did the person in question have bad chemistry with you guys on TV Forum? ITV News - watchingtv - 20-04-2021 ITV News at Ten did 20mins of LIVE coverage of the trial verdict. Rageh Omaar threw to 2 reporters during that time as well. Rageh Omaar threw to 2 reporters during that time as well.It was 3 - Emma, Rohit and Robert. As a caveat I must say I really like Rageh as a newscaster - he's possibly my favourite. I'd have thought they may have put the 'Breaking news' aston on when they went to the courtroom, although it's pretty useless because it doesn't actually say what the breaking news is any more. ITV News - Brekkie - 20-04-2021 Good to see Robert still reporting as frequently as ever. Had expected him to basically only be cover for Emma when he stepped down but he has continued to report frequently, though perhaps dictated by the news agenda. ITV News - CameronYoung - 20-04-2021 Is Robert now just a normal correspondent who happens to be based in the US? To be fair, I think they wanted someone in Washington talking about what Biden had been saying rather than Emma and Rohit who were reporting on reaction on the ground. ITV News - rkolsen - 21-04-2021 Does ITN or ITV have a new US partner now? Or is it still NBC even though they’re with Sky Now? I occasionally see bits of the NaT on the 11th Hour with Brian Williams. ITV News - CameronYoung - 21-04-2021 My understanding is they've been rather close to CNN for a while, when the Gulf War started they just straight up broadcast CNN for about an hour. They were also cutting to CNN during the US election programme last year. ITV News - GaryMcEwan - 24-04-2021 Sameena Ali-Khan from Central doing the weekend bulletin for the first time since 2006. Makes a nice change from the usual Saturday weekend line up. |
