I don't know if anybody has seen this yet - I found it while trying to search for one of my employer's contracts - could a move out of the Mailbox be on the cards?
Quote:The BBC is expanding its operations in Birmingham. Additional BBC Radio and News teams will be moving to Birmingham in the next few years. The BBC has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) to increase the amount of content it produces in the Midlands, particularly in Birmingham.

The expansion of the BBC in Birmingham coincides with the BBC's current lease at The Mailbox expiring in June 2026, as well as clarity on the BBC's sustainability strategy, the adoption of new hybrid working patterns, and wider technological changes.

The initial term of the contract will run for a period of 22 years plus two optional additional extension period of 12 months each.

Value of contract
£50,000,000

I think it was reported a couple of weeks back they wouldn't renew the lease.

They also joined forces on Wednesday lunchtime (not sure about during Breakfast).

The East Midlands Today account says it's temporary and they should be broadcasting from Nottingham tomorrow:

Is it my imagination or do Midlands Today still use the 2008 headline bed?

The new new NEW Central West and BBC Midlands Thread - RDJ - 16-12-2021

EMT was broadcasting at lunchtime and promoted that Anne Davies will be on tonight at 6.30. So seems to be a last minute thing for the combined programme.

They did quite well however in the circumstances with a good mix of reports for the East and West, East reports still signing off as ‘East Midlands Today’. Shefali seemed to be relishing the fact that it was going out in the East Midlands, mentioning that Nottinghamshire was her childhood stomping ground.

An outing of the pan-regional titles too, with a mixture of shots of the East and West Midlands - so a lot more prepared than they've been in the past.

As for the headline bed, I think it is the 2008 one - occasionally they use the 2019 regional bed, sometimes they use the 2008 bed.

Matt Teale is unexpectedly leaving ITV News Central as well as Forces News to be the replacement for Fred Dinenage and join ITV News Meridian full time.

That leaves a bit of a hole in the schedules for a part time male presenter on Central on Thursdays and Fridays. Who could replace Matt?

The new new NEW Central West and BBC Midlands Thread - Ballyboy - 21-12-2021

Steve Clamp?, Mark Kielesz- Levine might do the sport on Thursdays and Fridays

Steve Clamp most likely - could we seen a return for Wesley?

Callum Watkinson was on ITV News London this evening.

This is certainly going to be interesting! How much longer is Bob going to continue? It would be superb to see Wesley become a main anchor again.
