The third round qualifying matches are not include in the Champions League TV rights. Only matches from the play-off stage onwards.

You, me, and many other rugby fans! It would be an absolute crying shame if this can't find a home on a UK sports channel. It doesn't need much (any) UK presentation, match timings tend to be quite convenient filler, and I suspect has a lot more mainstream UK support than some other foreign leagues.

I was never entirely sure why the original Europa League theme was ditched. That said the one they have now easily trumps the “clapping” theme that came in between the two.
Seems that we are seeing a lot less of the Qualifying Rounds of the UEFA competitions on TV this season than usual, although Premier Sports have picked up some of the Scottish ones.

Think the introduction of the Conference League has pretty much taken any English qualification out of the equation. Similarly when they guaranteed the 4th place in the PL a place in the Champions League that may have guaranteed 4 Premier League teams in the group stages but took out any English interest in the final qualification games.
As for the Community Shield - is that the first time (in modern times anyway) that it's been on a Saturday - isn't it usually a Sunday?

It's expected that the Rugby League World Cup that was scheduled for the end of this year will be formally postponed today after Australia and New Zealand have said they won't travel over in the current state of Covid

No announcement on who has the rights to that yet, it starts next week (and Bundesliga 2 started a couple of weeks ago!). No news of Serie A yet either, which starts a week later.
The rumour mill suggests both might have new, different homes, but we'll see.

Yes, I think it was on a Saturday in the distant past though, in the pre-Premier League era.

It is indeed the case that in previous years it has usually been on a Sunday, yes, though it has shuffled around on that day quite a bit. In 2012 it was played around lunchtime to avoid a clash with the business end of the final day of the Olympics, and indeed it has clashed with the Olympics on a couple of occasions. This is my favourite, an absolutely demented day of sport with the highlights as part of Olympic Grandstand - https://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/schedules/service_bbc_one_london/1992-08-08 - and on BBC Radio it was introduced by Terry Wogan, as he was doing the afternoon shift of the Olympics on Radio 5.
If they want a 5.15 kick-off, a Saturday is the better bet if fans are going to be present, hence the scheduling this year presumably.
This is one of the rare occasions the Charity/Community Shield has been on FTA TV, as it happens. Up until the mid-eighties it was highlights only, then ITV showed it live in 1986 and 1987. It was back to highlights in 1988 and then BSB started showing it when they started, and then Sky Sports. In 2008 it was on Setanta, but when they went bust the following year it was on Sky again - that was a very last minute deal, it was only signed with about a fortnight or so to go, that and the Women's Cup Final were the only FA competitions Sky had the rights to at the time. ITV had it from 2011 to 2013 and then it was live on BT, so as far as I know this is only the sixth time it's been live on free TV.

Is there any the reason the Community Shield has moved to Saturday? Sunday looks far less busy sports wise, with no 1500 kick-off in football in England and the Olympics will be finishing (1600 would miss the Closing Ceremony) and it would not clash with the South Africa v. Lions rugby.
