What an anti-climax that was - no new BBC One idents next Wednesday after all, then. Mind you, given we've been stuck with One-ness for near-on 5 years, another few weeks / months with a slap-on new BBC sticker won't hurt. Much.

It's tedious because it's just people moaning that they don't like it without ever adding anything new or constructive to the discussion.

If so then it's not been confirmed that the idents have been delayed. So there's still a chance that the new idents could launch next Wednesday.
After all, the BBC would want our opinions on the new idents too. So they can find out if our opinions on BBC One's presentation have changed or not.

Literally just read through Pages 32-42, and it looks to me as though a rumour turned into an article, into fact, back into rumour, and fact again. Whatever happens on the 20th, just watch, and when we've watched it, we can actually comment on it, commend it, criticise it. The only consistent thing through all of this hoopla that I've read is that the new BBC Logo is going to make its first official appearance in a week's time. If its with new idents, fantastic. If its with Oneness, it should be interesting.
As an aside, my opinion on Oneness is that the idents themselves are actually good on a conceptual level. The issue is the washed out colours and overall 'flatness' of them. If they used a more dynamic camera angle, at the very least, and more vibrant colours, that would really have elevated them from bad to fair.

Only this forum could go into a rage over something they've invented themselves not actually happening in reality. This place and Clean Feed have been feeding off each other. It's worth noting the actual BBC have never officially set a date for this rebrand.

So they will likely announce a "Good morning to a new look to BBC One" while using old idents with new branding and then a while later say "Good morning to yet another new look to BBC One."
Perhaps it has more to do with Christmas pres being not in line with the new look so they are waiting until after Christmas. Although, if that was the case, why not just rebrand the entire BBC on 1st January? Also, as I asked earlier in the thread, what if there is another lockdown? How on earth would they make the "zoom" idents work with new branding? That would end up looking like a jumble sale!

Well, I guess there must be a good reason for the delay in the launch of these new idents. Maybe there's just undergoing further tweaks/editing before they're officially "good to go"??
