Weeknight debuts for BBC1's Christmas idents have actually been rarer than you might have thought. From 2002 onwards, it's happened on Saturdays or Sundays, the former more often than the latter. The only exceptions to this were in 2012 (the red curtain ones) which were officially unveiled on The One Show on Tuesday December 4th, and 2015 (Sprout Boy) launching on Tuesday December 1st. If you mean Aardman, then they've done what is it, two sets? 13 years and 20 years ago. Hardly repetitive.Thistle post_id=54847 time= user_id=882 Wrote:Baaaaaaaa? Oh, and 26 years ago if you include BBC 2. BBC One: 2021 Rebrand - kulelad77 - 24-11-2021 This wouldn't be Shaun's first appearance on a tv ident, he was used on some of the CBBC idents from 2007. So at least give it a chance, you never know you might like it.Thistle post_id=54847 time= user_id=882 Wrote:Baaaaaaaa? Correct, Aardman created 2 idents featuring the flock which can be seen starting at 2:24 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soTs8A0ehHE BBC One: 2021 Rebrand - Brekkie - 24-11-2021 Moz post_id=54888 time= user_id=746 Wrote:Baaaaaaaaa Humbug!!!!Thistle post_id=54847 time= user_id=882 Wrote:Baaaaaaaa? Shaun the Sheep was originally a character from Wallace & Grommet was he not. It certainly seems like many more of the idents have been Ardman. Perhaps it’s just lots of animated characters like the man and his daughter a few years back. Personally I don’t like them. For those that argue it’s because Christmas is a time for children, I disagree. It’s for drinking and eating! More stuff like the recent BBC Two idents please - more grown up yet still magical. BBC One: 2021 Rebrand - BBCMeridian - 24-11-2021 Moz post_id=54964 time= user_id=746 Wrote:Well what you said is wrong. christmas is a time for families, young and old including children and I'm sure they would prefer to see the Shaun the Sheep idents rather than the grown up idents that BBC Two usually use, like I said, wait until they come on screen, you might like it.Andrew Wood post_id=54924 time= user_id=847 Wrote:Moz post_id=54888 time= user_id=746 Wrote:Yawwwwwn ?Fortunately it's not Wallace and Gromit but Shaun the Sheep. BBC One: 2021 Rebrand - Rob - 25-11-2021 Now now everyone, let's all take a deep breath in... ...and out. Some of the comments about the "potential" Christmas idents have been rather over the top. Let's just take a moment to remember the true meaning of Christmas... ...the birth of Chris Kamara.

No no, the true meaning of Christmas is a fridge & freezer so stuffed full of M&S party food that you have to keep the lager and champagne outside! BBC One: 2021 Rebrand - WMD - 26-11-2021 I don’t think I’ve seen an English regional programme slate since the rebrand. Here’s one from BBC South: Interesting that ‘south’ is in lower case, unlike the nations which are in all caps. The blocks did animate. |
