Prince Philip has Died - Transmission - 09-04-2021 VMPhil post_id=4566 time=1617986898 user_id=1043 Wrote:Transmission post_id=4546 time=1617986016 user_id=1522 Wrote:BBC Two will stick with BBC One for the rest of the evening, there'll be some tribute programmes and documentaries as well as extended news coverage. Exceptions being when the regional news is on BBC One and when Newsnight is on BBC Two. The reason for suspending BBC Four I believe is that if they were simulcasting the news that'd potentially cause some issues for statmuxing with the same content on lots of channels at once so they have the slide instead. If the news was announced in the evening, they would've joined it briefly for the formal announcement and then broken away to the slide as early as possible. Of course, the argument might be that instead of the slide they could show some other programming, but that's the reasoning behind it anyway. Prince Philip has Died - Larry the Loafer - 09-04-2021 Given how this is the first time a royal death has occurred in the era of ubiquitous streaming, I wonder how it would be received if the abandoned programmes were added to iPlayer for the people who don't want to watch the coverage. Prince Philip has Died - WeArethelosers - 09-04-2021 What's happening with UKTV and the obit loop? Prince Philip has Died - Josh - 09-04-2021 Schedules confirmed for tonight: BBC One 6pm - BBC News at Six 7pm - BBC Regional News 7.30pm - HRH The Duke of Edinburgh Remembered 9pm - A Tribute to HRH Duke of Edinburgh 10pm - BBC News at Ten 10.45pm - BBC Regional News 10.55pm - Weather 11pm - What the Papers Say 11.30pm - A Tribute to HRH Duke of Edinburgh ® 12.25am - Weather for the Week Ahead 12.30am - BBC News BBC Two As BBC One, except: 7-7.30pm - BBC News 10.45-11.30pm - Newsnight BBC Four BBC Four will be suspended on Friday 9 April 2021 BBC Radio BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 5 Live will continue with special programming reflecting the life of the Duke of Edinburgh, while our music networks are broadcasting amended schedules Prince Philip has Died - ALV - 09-04-2021 WTH... BBC World News Pres did not opt out when NC head to weather before 1800. WN are playing UK weather forecasts with the NC for views around the world~ The pres staff must be asleep~ Prince Philip has Died - Brekkie - 09-04-2021 Nice titles on Granada Reports which I guess all regions may have. Prince Philip has Died - Ballyboy - 09-04-2021 Special titles for UTV Live and it has adapted the grey astons too Prince Philip has Died - FrancisC - 09-04-2021 STV News Special with Andrea Brymer tonight - live from Edinburgh Castle. Prince Philip has Died - Whataday - 09-04-2021 Charlene White is anchoring ITV News London from outside Buckingham Palace. Prince Philip has Died - Transmission - 09-04-2021 The 19:30 programme will essentially be a special edition of The One Show. Prince Philip has Died - Universal_r - 09-04-2021 I assume ‘what the papers say’ is just ‘the papers’ but being simulcasted on BBC one? Prince Philip has Died - Inspector Sands - 09-04-2021 Quote:11pm - What the Papers SayEh? I thought that was a long axed programme. Presumably it's just the usual News Channel paper review type of idea? Prince Philip has Died - AxG - 09-04-2021 It's times like this I wish you could rewind live on the ITV Hub, like you can BBC iPlayer Prince Philip has Died - Brekkie - 09-04-2021 Interesting the schedule on BBC1 has branded the paper review slot as What the Papers Say rather than The Papers. I think all the news teams have done a superb job today but some scheduling decisions, especially at the BBC, are rather baffling and I suspect will be reviewed ahead of the next such event. |
