YouTube Gold - JetixFann450 - 25-12-2021 Seeing how that was broadcast on Challenge, the sorta G4 version of the show, I always wondered why Challenge (or Bravo, for that matter) never acquired the G4 shows to be broadcast there in the UK. YouTube Gold - Mateus Honrado - 25-12-2021 Here's a clip from Angela Griffin's short-lived Sky One talk show Angela & Friends. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sUkla-kIT8 YouTube Gold - Hatton Cross - 27-12-2021 Inspector Sands post_id=58908 time= user_id=1003 Wrote:The VT clock upload is great. Looks like ATV shoved a camera at the clock and mass recorded the required VT clocks in one recording session - as most of the names scattered around the frame were of their network schools and colleges programming series. YouTube Gold - watchingtv - 27-12-2021 You will need to click the link to watch on Youtube. I do not think any SKYNews Millennium coverage with Martin Stanford and Kate Garraway, has been on posted. I was also quite surprised that the term "bake-off" could qualify as a wordmark, as it feels super generic., I tend to associate the entire "-off" prefix as an indicator of competition relating to the noun on the left (e.g. bake-off, cook-off), Does it have a more specific association in the US? YouTube Gold - Steve Williams - 29-12-2021 This is a bit of a Christmas tradition up there with The Snowman for me, and it's 35 years old today. https://youtu.be/tqhEpjOf__A Nice to see it get wider exposure with various TV news people retweeting it. "I haven't got any scripts, Mike! How am I supposed to run a show!?!" YouTube Gold - soupie - 30-12-2021 The late 80s were clearly a vintage time for monumental news disasters. YouTube Gold - Neil Jones - 31-12-2021 Ahh, back in the days when it was "yay, lets celebrate football stadium style", before it all became about who could put on the biggest and the best firework display... YouTube Gold - James2001 - 31-12-2021 Got more from Sky Movies (plus) from that same night: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yuthd8uSpCU The "Sky Movies Plus" branding seems a bit odd, sometimes they used it, sometimes they didn't. For a start it seems to be used on the trailers, but not on the idents. YouTube Gold - Neil Jones - 31-12-2021 Sky Movies Plus was effectively I believe a strand used for non-movie programming (and as a dumping ground for other "special events" - music concerts, wrestling and premium sport) they could hide behind encryption as (it says here) the other channels were FTA - including Sky Sports. Although since there are two movies on the thumbnail (and those two films were relatively new by the end of 1991, both dating from 1989) perhaps it was sometimes used as a sort of premiere? Who knows? Sky Sports went pay later in 1992, and then the multi-channel era started the following year when the whole Sky platform involved opening your wallet to receive anything from them. YouTube Gold - Larry the Loafer - 31-12-2021 I never thought to ask this, even though I notice it every time I see it. But why was the overscan area on analogue cable and satellite channels almost always grey? Was there any reason for this?
