The CBeebies bugs could also fit in quite nicely - stretching and changing shapes is something they've kind of always done, and that seems to be what they're looking to do with the BBC blocks now.

I'm not sure how they're gonna do BBC3, as their current icon has 4 blocks because of the exclamation point on the end. We'll just have to wait and see

I was thinking this about BBC Three earlier, but the the gaps between the blocks in the II! symbol are about 1/2 the width of the blocks, while in the new BBC logo the gaps are roughly 1/4 of the width of the blocks. Though the II! symbol certainly resembles some elements of the new branding, it would appear to have been developed independently.

The BBC TWO logo I saw was stacked like it is currently, just with the updated blocks and TWO in Reith. I wonder if all the channel logos will be simple Reith versions of the word or if each channel is going to have the word in its own font/style?
Personally I'd prefer the former. It annoys me they use 'BBC one' and just made the 'one' text larger, it looks off compared to TWO, THREE and FOUR that are in capitals.

There will be an unified branding across all BBC core services, including radio stations. Non-core services can use its own branding when the BBC changes its logo, at least there will be a consistency.

It's not as if changes to the radio logos are going to be noticed by most of the audience anyways
Someone mentioned it before already but after doing the survey, I do think the BBC want to shift the focus from its "master brand" to purely just its services. i.e. where before on, say, live sports, there is just a BBC logo in the yellow box, they have the Sport 'symbol' in the box instead, with the logo of the BBC nowhere to be seen.
They have sort of been doing this already:

The screenshot above is still using 1997 BBC logo, not upcoming BBC logo, which will using reith. But, there are already see a intention to focus of service branding, for example the supposely radical different Iplayer logo, which just use a symbol without a BBC logo.

So this morning, having seen the new icons a few days ago, I tried to sketch them out to see if I could remember them. This is what resulted:

I got Sport the wrong way round and mashed Bitesize up a little. But as for memorability, I think they’re pretty good once you know what they are.

We'll just have to see...If BBC2 stick with the split logo I think it would probably look better if centred vertically rather than horizontally (or is it vice versa?), so the BBC logo is where the promo text usually is and the TWO on the right. However I think with what they're going with the BBC logo will generally be centred on the screen horizontally - the blocks animation wouldn't work as well if it wasn't.

I’ll tell you the colours, and you should be able to get most from that as they are the same as the existing…
