BBC One: 2021 Rebrand - JetixFann450 - 29-10-2021
Someone's let the dog out. And I'm not talking about those things in the corner.
I've always heard that exact same dog howl in the intro for years now, and I'm surprised it's only now, literally 15 years after they introduced the show, that forum posters are now seeing it. I don't know if it's just me, but the current theme song has sort of worn out in my eyes. I think it needs a bolder and less brash atittude.

Going back to the font thing, when the One Show was first launched, for its pilot run from Birmingham, the titles were based on the BBC ONE logo of the time, which is a lot closer to the new Reith version, and it really gives a very different feel.

I don't think the current sequence would work with the upper case Reith Sans version of the One.

Likewise, I always notice that it every time I hear it! Sort of a "waaheeeyyyy!" just at the end of the theme tune.

I'm utterly bemused that (A) how the end of The One Show theme tune sounds, and (B) the fact that what it consists of is a high/long trumpet note combined with a vocal "hey-ey-ey-ey" is news to anyone here at the current time, as it's been the same for years and years.

Is there actually any news on developments with the BBC One rebrand? Such as progress of new regional idents etc? We seem to have entered a bubble where BBC1 has become The One Show.

It did package the hour nicely though and handy for people not home in time for the 6pm news, or indeed just wanting a summary of the headlines rather than a full half hour bulletin. It didn't last long at all though, but in these days of constant cost cutting returning it could mean each region needing to produce one less package a day.
