Always felt the Sky/ECB deal left the County Championship in the shade (I think they usually only show two games live) so will be interesting how this goes. It sounds like individual clubs have been able to do their own thing online.

Sky have gone overboard on VR golf graphics for each hole of The Masters, Spoiled by them floating in the studio rather than anchored to something. Simply looks odd, very odd.

it's produced in conjunction with Twinkl, which will be familiar to parents of primary school children. My 6 year old certainly enjoyed it.

The Masters has followed CBS (no surprise seeing as they are the host broadcaster) in introducing a permanent on screen leaderboard, with the lower thirds moved to the left as a result.

Probably mentioned before, but do Augusta National insist on no channel DOGs hence no Sky Sports Main Event DOG on this?

The Sport Thread - Ste - 08-04-2021

To answer my own question. Must be a choice from Sky rather than contractual as Golf+ in France have their DOG on screen.

Yes eir Sport have their own DOG on screen too, in its normal top left position this year.

The Sport Thread - Brekkie - 08-04-2021

Not liking the idea of a permanent scoreboard - wonder if that'll be embedded onto the highlights the BBC show too where actually it may be useful to not show all footage in the order it happened.

It's more of a case that the usual position for the Sky Sports DOG is top right, but that's covered by the score caption, and top left - with the sky being a grey/white, would keep merging into the background.

And I don't think I've ever seen a DOG on Sky Sports either bottom left or right hand corner.

England v France women's soccer international has been bumped from BBC4 to an online/red button only stream.

Meanwhile Wales v Canada is an off-tube one-camera affair from the athletics stadium opposite the Cardiff City Stadium.

Never let it be said that women's soccer is treated as a second-rate sport.

The Sport Thread - Brekkie - 09-04-2021

The graphics on the England Women's game are rather nice.

AZPV promoting El Classico on the 'top shelf' of the Sport section of their apps tonight to highlight the availability of La Liga TV on the platform. First such major promo I've seen on the service.

Curious thing I've spotted that tonight Match of the Day is simulcasted on BBC Red Button.
Noticed this happening quite often this year mainly with Match of the Day 2. I could possibly understand this happening last weekend, for example, as Sportscene in Scotland was shown after the news with MOTD after that. But tonight there doesn't appear to be schedule variations in any of the nations. Anybody have an idea why this would happen?

Same is happening with MOTD2 tomorrow as well, https://www.bbc.co.uk/schedules/p069dk6p/2021/04/11

I also had a notification on my phone from the Prime Video app advertising it. Can't think of many examples where I got a notification advertising a specific programme on the Prime Video Channels before, though one comes through for every Prime PL match for example.

Super Sunday back on location, and at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the first time since before the first lockdown in March 2020.
