They went for a while without adverts around the time of Diana's death/funeral in 1997

I think even back at the start they had some adverts in some areas.

Yes, I think Aisling was just guessing they'd be on early. Things have certainly improved to allow for idents and trailers and that, but still no announcements.

EDIT: Looks like C4 social media are just guessing as well!

Looks like they're back on the proper, normal playout system. They had sponsorship sting, trails and ads ad usual. Subtitles back top, the only thing missing was the announcer

I suspect the social media messages were based on it staying in the basic emergency mode

Lots of trails, no ads, no announcement... but at least they're back on time.

I wonder if they've switched to their backup facility and it's not got any ad media loaded, just programmes?
