NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, Affiliates and TODAY - BBI45 - 03-05-2021 https://youtu.be/-MS4G812uBo NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, Affiliates and TODAY - jacobmorton - 03-05-2021 From what I've seen so far of TODAY's new graphics, I'm really not a fan. I think it all looks very tacky and takes the graphics back about 8 or 9 years. The previous graphics were stunning and seamless, and as the saying goes: 'if its not broken, don't fix it'. NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, Affiliates and TODAY - jacobmorton - 03-05-2021 Full opening headlines, which in my view is the biggest downgrade out of the whole refreshed package : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdY5n4JDfA4 NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, Affiliates and TODAY - jacobmorton - 03-05-2021 https://twitter.com/andrewrowan128/status/1389211441975201801?s=20 More stills. Also looks like the lower thirds for the first two hours are being used for the third hour, will be interesting to see if they've kept the purple colour scheme in the opener. NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, Affiliates and TODAY - jacobmorton - 03-05-2021 TODAY 3rd Hour new open https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3R3qxeviu8 TODAY new graphics supercut https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGHje4OKTb8 NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, Affiliates and TODAY - Brekkie - 03-05-2021 Does look a decade out of date and far too busy with the wipes etc. NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, Affiliates and TODAY - seamus - 03-05-2021 Hmm, I'm not sure blue is the best for them, too similar in palette to GMA. I think orange is a very strong part of their brand so I'm not sure why they'd minimize it - CBS is mostly yellow and white, and ABC is strongly blue. NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, Affiliates and TODAY - Jayesyn - 03-05-2021 I don't think that the new graphics are too bad, however I do agree that the previous set were better. I also agree with the previous post that the blue is too similar to GMA, but what puts me of most, are the loud and many different variations of whooshing noises right after each other in the title sequence. EDIT: the 3rd hour titles are much better, having barely any whooshing noises. I do feel like they both are incredibly slow, though NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, Affiliates and TODAY - Willz - 03-05-2021 Personally I like it, but too many wipe noises. NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, Affiliates and TODAY - Brekkie - 03-05-2021 You'd have thought they'd have come up with a better title for the 3rd hour than "3rd hour" by now. NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, Affiliates and TODAY - jacobmorton - 03-05-2021 What I find odd is that the new graphics package for 7-9am seem to be based on the opening of Hoda & Jenna (with the angles etc), yet Hoda & Jenna have kept the same bug as the previous 7-9am one (the square box with today logo inside). NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, Affiliates and TODAY - TravisM - 03-05-2021 Really like the new graphics actually. Think they look great. NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, Affiliates and TODAY - DavidWhitfield - 03-05-2021 Watching that 'supercut' video, I'm most struck by how specific the 'coming up' times are. 'Nationwide chlorine shortage' at 7:32am, 'Jean Trebek one-on-one' at 7:39am, and 'celebrating teachers' at 8:12am. On a morning show over here, you'll be told that a feature/interview is coming up at a time rounded to the nearest five minutes and, on GMB especially, you'll expect to see it anywhere five to ten minutes either side of that time. Interesting to note how exact those timings seem to be over the pond. NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, Affiliates and TODAY - Brekkie - 03-05-2021 I bet they hit every junction as well. NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, Affiliates and TODAY - scottishtv - 03-05-2021 Why does the 8am TOTH sequence have completely different graphics from the 7am TOTH sequence? The whole things looks so inconsistent. That's before you take into account the bits that change daily - ie. the stories - which seem to have been put together by someone who wanted to use every single different image transition from the slideshow presets, completely headache inducing. That star/sunshine transition from top left to bottom right looks awful. |
