Prince Philip has Died - UTVLifer - 09-04-2021 Have we heard the nursery remix of Haunted Danceball and the likes yet on the Radio simulcast? What sort of music is being played Prince Philip has Died - nbafan89 - 09-04-2021 EJnutz post_id=4275 time=1617975614 user_id=1324 Wrote:UTVLifer post_id=4184 time=1617973268 user_id=1030 Wrote:ITV have just gone to the weather same with ITV racing Prince Philip has Died - Josh - 09-04-2021 Will be interesting to see if CBBC runs any Newsround coverage this afternoon. I recall there being short links between programmes at the start of lockdown to announce the closure of schools in the various nations. Live continuity is from 4:30 onwards I believe. Prince Philip has Died - James Martin - 09-04-2021 All of Heart's stations are airing a single programme consisting of ballads, including songs I've not heard on Heart for ages, it sounds more like Smooth! As I say, it's on all the brand extensions too, so Heart Dance sounds very off-brand! Yep, and according to the schedules will be until 7am tomorrow. Confusing when Scott usually presents from 4 and could definitely pull off a good show. Having playlists of sombre music on playout systems ready isn't exactly difficult these days, nor is having people working from home able to access those systems. It's an editorial decision, I imagine the controllers of those stations are itching to get back on air. I doubt it will happen again like this next time Prince Philip has Died - VMPhil - 09-04-2021 UTVLifer post_id=4366 time=1617978681 user_id=1030 Wrote:Inspector Sands post_id=4362 time=1617978419 user_id=1003 Wrote:I find it amazing that the BBC radio stations are all still joined up and playing the news special, I'd assumed that they'd all gradually peel off to do their own thing.I suspect it is due to how everything has been scaled back due to COVID and how, as I remember reading in that piece about Soundtracking 9/11 many years ago, in a major news situation like this, they suddenly need to find a lot more music, and suitable music at that in a very short space of time. The Chris Moyles 9/11 show was posted on YouTube a while back, and I compiled a nearly-complete playlist and posted it on chrismoyles.net http://chrismoyles.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=513773&sid=e0571ae0308f7d6bdc94eb69c5108e64#p513773 As you can see, they didn't actually drop their usual playlist immediately, which was the impression I got after reading the Soundtrack 9/11 article, but I imagine they were preparing the more sombre music for playing later as they already had to bring out a couple of older tracks from 1999. With Diana, 2,3,4,5 Live & Locals all joined up but Radio 1 did its own thing. I'm surprised they're still taking R4, they didn't even do that for Diana - but I guess it's been in plans written decades ago. Absolute Radio's decades stations have all switched to low key songs from each specific decade (Candle in the Wind 97 just had an airing on the 90s station!). Quite impressive when they could have just done one mega simulcast Prince Philip has Died - harshy - 09-04-2021 Forces TV showing Sky News, I thought with its BFBS reach it would show BBC News. Prince Philip has Died - Steddenm - 09-04-2021 Forces TV are showing Sky News at the moment but quite a bad picture quality on it. That's TV have a Special Announcement airing. Prince Philip has Died - jsnbts - 09-04-2021 Capital Dance are doing well.. playing paired down / slower dance tracks which seem to strike the right tone. Not bad for one of the newer stations, but obviously Global were well prepared. Will be interesting to see if MistaJam goes live at 4pm as he usually would on a Friday. Also note all Global stations have turned their social media profiles to black and white logos. |
