But getting that slot did perhaps suggest it had fallen out of favour? Previous series had aired at around 7pm. There's nothing wrong with 6/6.30pm in the Autumn/Winter but Ninja Warrior was there in May when it was bound to suffer. It might not suggest anything about it falling out of favour, ITV might just be keen to keep new content in that slot, it was just a musing. But getting that slot did perhaps suggest it had fallen out of favour? I’d say the 6pm shows are some of the Mulhern stuff, so Catchphrase and Rolling In It, Celebrity Chase usually airs at 7 or 8 but I suppose it could and maybe should be included into the early evening game shows. Other than that you have Celebrity Tipping Point, although that tends to be on Sundays these days. I wouldn’t be too surprised if Celebrity Lingo and Celebrity Winning Combination are too far round the corner, especially if they both have solid second series. They could also do with some more Celebrity Tenable for that slot, I believe they did two episodes a couple of years ago but haven’t done anything new since then. Ninja Warrior is a bit too high budget for the 6pm slot. I think they’re fine keeping it to celebrity Catchphrase, they’ve got 13 episodes in the can for Autumn and I imagine they’ll carry on with repeats of it. Rolling In It could take over for a few weeks though in the Summer, and they’ll need something else when In For a Penny is on as I can’t imagine they’ll want double Mulhern. ITV Programming Thread - tellyblues - 02-04-2021 Game of Talents launches the same night as BBC1's I Can See Your Voice. Two very similar formats and I think they will cancel each other out and viewers will get fed up of guessing games for a while, which will in turn affect the Masked franchise. ITV Programming Thread - Ash101 - 03-04-2021 Agree it’s a shame they’re clashing in the schedules. Would’ve been nice to see BBC One maybe schedule it to start half 6, to finish in time for ITV’s efforts. It’s not quite SCD where you’ll trounce whatever’s on the other side. Or indeed see them both underperform. ITV Programming Thread - Johnr - 03-04-2021 I'm loving the new episode of It's Clarkson on TV! Reminds me of the very early days of TV Burp in a lot of ways ITV Programming Thread - commseng - 03-04-2021 Johnr post_id=2641 time=1617484981 user_id=1319 Wrote:I'm loving the new episode of It's Clarkson on TV! Reminds me of the very early days of TV Burp in a lot of waysThat just goes to show how we see the same programme in different ways. I managed to stick with it until the end of part one. Clive James did that show with wit, and Harry Hill's material on TV Burp was slightly leftfield and had charm. This material was woefully thin. I thought it was awful. ITV Programming Thread - FanOfTV99 - 03-04-2021 I was looking at the quick promo for Game Of Talent on SNT and I have to admit. I've missed Vernon on Saturday Night TV. I will admit, he can be shouty but just seeing him on Saturday Nights make it all good as he one of the people who adds a spark to anything. I can wait to watch this new show he's doing on Saturday. It looks to be a hit just by the promo. ITV Programming Thread - Ash101 - 03-04-2021 Johnr post_id=2641 time=1617484981 user_id=1319 Wrote:I'm loving the new episode of It's Clarkson on TV! Reminds me of the very early days of TV Burp in a lot of ways I thought it was very hit and miss. Which is a shame as I enjoyed the Christmas episode. But yes, reminded me of TV Burp a lot. I am sure Harry Hill once played out a Gadget Show competition prizes video in full too. ITV Programming Thread - Johnr - 05-04-2021 The canned audience effects on Tipping Point Lucky Stars were absolutely awful! ITV Programming Thread - iloveTV1 - 07-04-2021 https://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/jason-manford-bags-new-role-23859983 StarStruck is apparently going to have a judging panel of Sheridan Smith, Adam Lambert, Beverly Knight and Jason Manford. Olly Murs is down to host. ITV Programming Thread - Ash101 - 07-04-2021 Shocked at the choice of host, especially given how his time doing X Factor went. But the judging panel seems a good mix. Maybe it's just because you don't really get shows like this any more but there is something about it that feels really dated. Like it's straight out of the 90s. Maybe it's because this is the sort of show you could expect Clarkson to be hosting back then but he hasn't done anything like this for a long time.Johnr post_id=2641 time=1617484981 user_id=1319 Wrote:I'm loving the new episode of It's Clarkson on TV! The Gadget Show competition bit was lazy given that I distinctly remember that from TV Burp. I get that there will inevitably be crossovers but wasn't the Gadget Show competition something Harry went back to a few times? You’re right, I’m not a fan of Amanda Holden but I thought they were great together on that slot. Let’s hope this doesn’t backfire on them when the obvious swap is in front of them. |
