Well done to the Top Gear team for doing this for Sabine's fans & more her importantly her family who will miss her a lot when she is no longer with us. I will watch this on BBC One on Wednesday night. I am sure that it will be a very emotional tribute for her great work on the show.

As I said on the old place she is the only presenter in all eras since 2002 so glad to see a lot of different eras represented. She appeared with Clarkson, Hammond & May on the Nürburgring feature and UK v German Top Gear, then a part time presenter under Evans and features with LeBlanc, Harris & Reid and then did a few features with Harris & McGuinness in recent years. Also Chris Harris said on Sunday Brunch she was pencilled in to be on a couple of features either in this current series or the next one

The fight is in Dubai, with a UK studio with Jeanette Kwakye hosting. Only really seen her as the BBC athletics sideline reporter previously but she seems very comfortable in the hosting role.
Also seems to be have been ad free (I've only watched since the 3rd round).

Speaking of it didn't notice any ads during the fight. Jeanette Kwakye seems to have a rising profile, she presented some of Channel 5 fights late last year when they were in the BT Sport Studio and she presented some of the Swimming coverage and some stuff on 5 Live as well.

Today's La Liga Santander match between Cadiz and Valencia was interrupted following an altercation between two opposing players, Valencia's team leaving the pitch following the incident. The match has resumed with one of the players involved being substituted in the break in play. Match continues on La Liga TV.

Heineken Champions Cup rugby quarter-final kick-off times for next weekend confirmed after this weekend's action.
All matches on BT Sport, with La Rochelle v. Sale on Channel 4/Virgin Media One. Unsurprisingly it's not Clermont v. Toulouse on C4 that was trailed at the end of yesterday's match when it was not known it was an all French tie.

EDIT Challenge Cup kick-off times now also confirmed, once again all on BT Sport. The only match with no English/Irish involvement is clashing with Northampton v. Ulster on Saturday night, otherwise all matches in a unique slot across the weekend.

Separately, Channel 4's highlights/magazine show The Big Tackle returns tonight at 00:20.
The show has had a strange existence, originally a live preview show on Saturday morning; then last season and the the start of this year it became a pre recorded show with more extended highlights of the Friday game at around 08:00 on Saturday and now presumably a full highlights show on Sunday night.

Those Heineken Cup rights are virtually worthless to VMTV with no Irish side involved in the live tie a second week running. If you’re a fan of rugby in Ireland who is willing to watch La Rochelle v Sale, then quite frankly you are probably already paying for BT Sport. Which any Irish rugby fan who wants to watch the only Irish side left in the competition (or Ulster in the European Challenge Cup) will have to do.
As for VMTV, they will be fulfilling the contractual obligation but be very surprised if they renew the rights without a serious renegotiation of the clause that requires them to show the same match as Channel 4.

Does seem that more often or not the game chosen is an English team versus a French team.
Although the match to be shown is dictated to C4/VM I do wonder if BT get first choice over an exclusive match. How long was the deal for - this will be the end of the 3rd year of the FTA portion.

My recollection is that this is year three of four, so one season left.
Interestingly there was talk in the media recently of a renewal of the agreement that keeps EPCR in existence with the possibility of the South African teams that are supposed to join the Pro14 next season also getting entry, but I can see a million problems with that latter part. Also that the shorter group stage may become a permanent part of the competition, but I will be disappointed if that happens.

Yes, it's felt underwhelming this year though understandable. If they want a shorter group phase just go for a knock out comp, but that won't happens as teams will want their guaranteed number of fixtures.
I really think the Champions League will lose so much too if they go as planned to 36 teams with each team playing 10 matches and then one overall league table. The group stage has worked so well for so long and is easy for viewers to understand and broadcasters to market. At most I'd go for 4 groups of 9, each playing 4 home and 4 away games, so at least you can kind of see what people need to do to reach the top 4 to move on. That can then be done without any additional dates by simply reverting the round of 16 back to being played over 2 weeks rather than 4. Personally I've never thought that really worked as although broadcasters have less games clashing it does feel like the content is spread rather thinly over a month

What seems to be the case is that the truncated group stage would be permanently kept in order to accommodate an expanded (and ringfenced) 14 team PRL. (Whether that itself will happen, I don’t know). The expanded Pro14 (which will almost certainly happen) may not actually have more games depending on what format is arrived at. The shorter group stage was originally announced as being only due to Covid and was effectively abandoned half way through with an extra knockout round played this weekend in order to mitigate a situation where some teams had only played one game and some teams two.
As for the Champions League, it seems permanently now at risk of the top teams departing for the much mooted European Super League, and UEFA are trying to bend over backwards to keep them, perhaps aware that any threat to expel clubs from their domestic leagues or exclude players from international football might be greeted with applause (from the clubs at any rate) rather than fear. I’m a bit confused on the so called “Swiss model” proposed as it doesn’t seem to be actually used by the Swiss Super League although I imagine any extra games will mean participation in both the Champions League and EFL Cup will be very difficult. I don’t rate the group stage of the Champions League highly mind you - compared to the Heineken Cup’s traditional format - the prize for coming first as opposed the second (seeding in the last 16 draw) just isn’t a high enough attraction to keep chasing by MD6 if there are other distractions, whereas the H Cup format gave virtually everyone a reason to field full strength squads in Round 6 unless you were already totally out or had #1 seed already clinched.

Reported elsewhere that BBC/ITV have increased their 6-Nations bid, and apparently it's getting close to the price-per-game that Sky pay for the Premier League.. also that the WRU are insisting on a FTA deal for the Welsh games at least.
It's gone pretty quiet on the autumn international front, which I'd like to think means at least one out of Sky or BT are making a serious play for those.

BBC Sport NI to cover both legs of Northern Ireland Women in their Euro 2022 play off against Ukraine. If NI win the tie over the 2 legs they qualify for the Finals in England next year. Worth noting BBC NI have shown Northern Ireland home qualifiers and some domestic cup finals the last 4/5 years on the BBC iplayer & red button but the match on Tuesday will be the first International and possibly local women's football shown on network television in Northern Ireland.
