The new new NEW Central West and BBC Midlands Thread - Joe - 12-06-2021 Don’t know if we see what provoked him there, but the comments about McDonald’s and Footlocker, vs. his ‘hard’ job broadcasting to ‘half a million people’ show him to be an entitled dick. There was around 2 minutes of live OB with kids running behind him and waving (nothing said by them) on several occasions. They panned the camera the other way up Broad Street to cut the youths out. They then went to a package from the OB, which is when I assume this happened. You could see on the OB he was frustrated and carried on. Surprising really. The threat to "f***ing bang you out" should get him arrested and questioned at the very least. Delivered in the way it was, that's a credible threat of serious violence, with video evidence. Being a dick and fooling around behind a TV news reporter is stupid, but not illegal. Threatening violence against someone for doing that is both stupid and illegal. Perhaps this reporter will be asking if we want fries with that fairly soon - if McDonald's employ him with a criminal record. If I was to threaten to 'bang [someone] out' I'd be up on a charge of some description, as with 99% of other professions! There might be more to the small clip we've seen; perhaps off camera or off-air there was other words used and exchanged that provoked the reaction but from what I saw of the catch up service it was just people messing about behind him. The new new NEW Central West and BBC Midlands Thread - kernow - 29-06-2021 There was a rather interesting introduction to ITV News Central just now from Bob Warman... "Welcome to those of you choosing to watch us during the football" I wonder if similar things were said in other regions. The new new NEW Central West and BBC Midlands Thread - Ballyboy - 29-06-2021 Probably just classic Bob Warman humour The new new NEW Central West and BBC Midlands Thread - RDJ - 03-07-2021 Not sure if it’s just Central but timings seem to be seriously out the past few days. Yesterday’s and today’s bulletins and weather forecasts in Central West have all been cut short. The Pollen Count has barely started before the ads kick in, the presenter hasn’t even had chance to say goodbye. Seems as if it could be as much as a minute out. Not sure if the fault is at Central’s or ITV’s end and if it’s affecting other regions too? The new new NEW Central West and BBC Midlands Thread - Ballyboy - 08-07-2021 Is Callum Watkinson still on central??? The new new NEW Central West and BBC Midlands Thread - RDJ - 12-07-2021 A emphasised ‘Good Morning’ from Michael Collie as Midlands Today airs at 00:07. Thankfully it was David Gregory-Kumar at the helm this afternoon so not such a long shift for Michael. The new new NEW Central West and BBC Midlands Thread - Ballyboy - 12-07-2021 Can’t beat Michael. On that note, am I right in thinking that Midlands Today were the only broadcast signed bulletin in the English Regions between the early 90s and about 2008/9? Whatever happened to that provision, I'm sure BID provided the interpreter for free. |
