Aren't there a few episodes left of the last run of Epic Gameshow - at least three or four I think. ITV can basically just commission a short run of new episodes to run to make a new series, though they'd need to be audience free so they didn't look too odd, so they might just burn them off instead.

There is a civilian episode of Play Your Cards Right & Take Your Pick and 1 Celebrity episode left to be shown from the run earlier this year.

Oh that's interesting. If they're not that bothered (and clearly not as they've left them on the shelf and not aired them anywhere near the series earlier this year), they should just burn them off against SCD. Might've worked out better than Beat the Chasers which does need a rest now.

Yes, we've had 3 runs of Beat the Chasers this year. January, March & September / October. I think it needs a break otherwise they will exhaust it.

Agree about Ninja Warrior, it's a great format that they really should return too. I did notice another repeat run at the weekend too, which - much like the 2 they repeated last year in early peak - is an odd decision if indeed they have swung the axe.
The Christmas special will probably end up against the Strictly final.

It was recorded back in April. So the longer it sits on the shelf, the more dated it's going to look as it has full on Covid protocols.
According to something I saw on Twitter this morning (can't find it now), it looks set to air in 2022. Not sure when as they are very packed in Q1 into Q2.
