He presented last weekend or the weekend before. He's also appeared on the odd shift here and there, but he mainly covers ITV News London and of course continues as a correspondent.

Have to say he clearly has good genes as he's hardly aged at all in that time. I can't remember the last time he presented before his recent appearances. I know he had a VO done in the original 2013 set but I do feel as he was only popping up sporadically at that time. I'm pretty certain the last time he was a regular was during the 'underground car park' era before 2013. I remember he was a pretty high profile relief presenter at that time and could be seen across all ITV News output, including the big flagship bulletins. Then he just disappeared but it's nice to see him back again - let's hope he's seen a bit more often from now on. My guess, though, is his shifts this weekend have been due to the usual presenters having holidays?
On a similar note, where is Natasha Kaplinsky these days? Is she still considered part of the ITV News team? She's another one who doesn't seem to have appeared much since the 2013 rebrand.

I think Natasha disappeared once the Evening News went single headed, as there was no need for such a long list of possible cover, Alastair Stewart could cover for Mary most of the time.

ITN Productions do psuedo-news programmes for industry clients, and Natasha appears to be a regular on those from what I've seen on LinkedIn etc.
I've actually been meaning to bring the news programmes up for a while as I don't think they've been discussed on here/TVF before. They're very ITV News in style, with a similar colour scheme and a soundalike theme tune, although the ITV News name is never mentioned. You can see a recent production here.
They've gotten a new set recently, which looks like it heavily relied on the current Peston set for inspiration! Not sure where the current set is housed (it seems bigger than what went before) but the previous set looks like it shared the Channel 4 News studio.

I stumbled across a clip on YouTube last night of John Suchet signing off for the last time. Such a fine broadcaster. Can't believe it's 17 years since he hung up his newsreading hat.

Geraint, from what I remember, was mainly in the atrium era of the "theatre of news" set, regularly hosting the Friday edition and almost at the time being groomed as a potential replacement for Mark Austin on the Evening News, though of course when the time came it was Alastair who moved into that role during the car park era and increasingly rare to have anyone other than Mark, Alastair, Mary, Julie and whilst she was still there, Katie Derham, front the two main bulletins. As you said Natasha Kaplinsky did occassionally, and I imagine Nina Hossain did. They must have had regular male stand ins for Alastair and Mark too but it was far more infrequent than previously.

ITV London has mainly been using Duncan Golestani as cover rather than Geraint or Ronke Phillips in the last few weeks which I have no issue with as he's very good although I do think they should make him the third presenter on a permanent basis.

Does Faye Barker ever cover the London 6pm programme? Sorry to turn this thread slightly, just where Charlene has worked her way up to News at Ten after the morning news got axed, Faye’s remained relatively on lower profile network shifts.
