The same sort of footage of Salford Quays as currently, with the same theme music. But with the HH:MM:SS clock now in Reith Sans at the bottom of the screen (as per the channel names on idents). It changes to the word "NEWS" as the blocks animate in at the top of the screen, and the logo which appears in the centre of the screen be a translucent orange square with the 9 letters of the programme name presented as three rows of 3 letters.

As "Newsnight" is also 9 letters, the same "box logo" concept (maybe in purple, or something?) would also work.
All of which, is probably about as likely as a TV comeback for John Leslie or Michael Barrymore.

Agree with [mention]Sweep2021[/mention], I expect some authority from those presenting the news. They don’t have to be boring & miserable - Emily Maitliss and Jon Sopel had fun but could switch it to serious when they needed to.
I just can’t take sports presenters seriously I’m sorry.

I've not seen a huge amount of them as a duo since it became official but what I've seen has been asbsolutely fine - Sally is far more than just a "sports presenter", as indeed is Dan. He might be getting a Kaplinsky style Strictly backlash - he's someone who is generally a very competent and engaging broadcaster, but can occassionally become a tad annoying, as most do.
Ultimately though with the news as it is at the moment I think it's just as important for it to have a light touch with giggly moments where appropriate as it is for it to be authorative. Breakfast isn't Newsnight after all.

Not at all. I like Dan and Sally individually but they’re a little bit annoying together as I said. I think Dan needs to learn when to stop taking and needs to learn when and when not to interrupt. He seems to continue laughing for some time way after he’s told a bit of a joke. Quite amateurish and cringe worthy.

Today's BBC One simulcast of Breakfast will last about an hour longer than would typically be the case on a Sunday during the Football Season, due to the significantly shorter MOTD (because only one Premier League game was played yesterday).
Last night's listings show MOTD's slot at being 10:25pm - 10:50pm, which is 25 minutes. But iPlayer states its duration as being "30 minutes". ? It may have been one of those situations where its de-facto length was somewhere between the two (e.g. 26½ minutes, or something).
This morning's MOTD repeat has been allocated a 30-minute slot at 8:30am
EDIT: As expected, Breakfast continued right up until at least 08:30:00 (seemingly a number of seconds beyond). But there wasn't as much trailer padding as one might've expected, so MOTD started only about 60-120 seconds later than billed. Having established in The Sport Thread that MOTD's de-facto length is only 24 minutes, there'll need to be a lot of padding before Marr (and/or Marr stating early).

The Sunday morning repeat of MoTD is longer than the Saturday night show, as it usually includes some sort of news story from one of the teams. This morning, it was what Southampton Football Club are doing in the community with people who have had health issues.

The interesting thing is why that programme's two senior presenters (in Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty) are anchored at the back end of the week. Normally on most flagship news programmes, be it regional or national, the "senior/primary" presenter would host at the front end of the week (unless in exceptional circumstances, as in a major news story, whilst the "less senior" would tend to host at the back end.
Previously, when Dermot Murnaghan and Natasha Kaplinsky left the programme, the likes of Bill Turnbull, Sian Williams, Susanna Reid and Louise Minchin all moved up from the back end of the week to the front. So when Turnbull left in 2016, that trend was bucked when Dan Walker was parachuted into his slot ahead of Charlie Stayt (and Sally Nugent has done the same to replace Louise Minchin ahead of Naga Munchetty). It would be interesting to know if Stayt was offered the chance to work the Monday-Wednesday shift. If he was, I'd be surprised if he turned it down...

I quite agree- I feel like Dan and Louise as a duo balanced each other out nicely, whereas the few times I've caught Breakfast recently, not a fan of Dan and Sally as a double act.
Without turning this into a rota thread, is Jon whats-his-face still there as a relief presenter?

Exactly! Naga has a 5LIVE show she presents all week. Of course it would have been offered to her before Sally Nugent. As for Charlie, he's doing a 3 day week like Dan, Louise, Sally and all those before him.

It's a far more equal split than over at GMB, and if we're viewing the early part of the week as the priority Dan has been there 5 years or so now and arguably is the face of the show.
Yes, there is a strong argument the line up would be more balanced by splitting up the two duos but Charlie and Naga are a long established duo in their own right and perhaps part of the reason they've not moved up individually to Mon-Wed is they, and producers, don't want to break that partnership - and they probably also didn't want to play to the narrative the Thu-Sat team is the B-team.
