Plus the top two of each three team group qualifies for the next round, so very little jeopardy in the elongated group stage. Plus less jeopardy presumably in qualifying with that process being more forgiving (although UEFA only get two more places theoretically).

A rather rare occasion tonight with all five British and Irish sides in action. This means that Sky Sports will have SIX channels showing live football simultaneously, with Main Event (England), Football (Scotland), Premier League (Wales), Mix (Nothern Ireland), Arena (Republic of Ireland) and Action (Portugal) all in use, with the star tie of Netherlands v. Germany also being shown on YouTube as well as the Red Button.

VMTV in Ireland have gone for the Portugal tie oddly enough, presumably because it’s actually a competitive game.
I thought the “Week of Football” concept was meant to stop exactly this scenario though? Last night there were only two games and none in Uefa-land on Sunday.

As with the Home Nations Snooker, Quest are to show afternoon sessions & final of the inaugural WDF World Darts Championship at the Lakeside starting this weekend. They did the same with the 2019 BDO World Darts at the Lakeside but didn't show as much in 2020 missing the first weekend and only starting their coverage on the Monday. Hope the coverage will improve as 2019 was excellent and 2020 was abysmal.
On another note Lynsey Hipgrave will present taking over from Nat Coombs with analysis from Tony O’Shea & Paul Nicholson and commentary from Chris Murphy & John Rawling and I believe this is Murphy's first Lakeside as well.

It's odd enough when FTA broadcasters send people to YouTube rather than use their own platform but bizarre for Sky to do it, even for a 7th choice match.

Seems to be very little stadium sound present in Ireland v Lithuania. (Then again it wouldn’t be unknown for the atmosphere at the Aviva to be that bad for a football friendly!)
