I actually thought the Autumn Internationals graphics were quite fresh and contemporary, the scoreboard looked a bit basic though, which I think is fixed here, also prefer this colour scheme. Certainly an improvement over the usual Six Nations set and certainly something that looks more befitting of a tournament sponsored by something like TikTok.

BBC Two NI's set is decked out in purple for this match. It is also being simulcast on BBC Two Wales.
The BBC NI coverage skipped the anthems though. Was that meant to happen on this match.

The Welsh commentary feed on the iPlayer didn't skip the anthems and also showed the team line-ups and had graphics from the start (BBC Ni had no graphics for the first 30 seconds/minute as well as skipping the anthems).

They do look an improvement on the autumn version and frankly purple is much underused as a prominent colour in graphics - so much more vibrant than another shade of blue. Certainly seems to be an attempt to give the Women's Tournament an identity of it's own and suspect if crowd figures hold up they'll keep it in it's own slot.

Ugo Monye surprisingly. Gabby Logan hosted BBC Wales' URC game on Friday night so not as if she was completely unavailable this weekend.

I’d accept that explaination if the BBC had a history/policy of boycotting Amhran na bhFiann/the Soldier’s Song. They don’t and they’ve shown it hundreds of times at sporting events at which it’s been played and which the BBC have covered, including Ulster GAA coverage.
But I digress. That version of the graphics works much better than the original Amazon version - and begs the question as to why the Six Nations persist with such dated graphics for the mens senior tournament - they were dated when they debuted nearly ten years ago and they are ancient now.

Apart from a pet hate of mine, a graphic element deliberately placed/aligned to be part outside of the main lower third bar, appearing to look like your screen in having troubles with stretching for aspect ratios, and the font that has wondered in from ESPN circa 1990...
I agree with Brekkie. What is Rugby Union's problem with pan nation tournaments, and a decent set of graphics?

With Oxford v Cambridge Boat Races taking place next weekend on BBC One I see to little publicity that the Varsity Rugby Union matches will be broadcast by Freesports next week, the matches were broadcast by the BBC from 2015-18 and ITV4 in 2019

As you say I think it was a mistake more than anything, maybe they should have started 15 minutes earlier for the buildup. Back when BBC had the Irish Autumn International Matches BBC NI often covered 1-2 games depending on who they were playing, if they played someone like Fiji or Samoa it would only be shown on BBC NI and Grandstand or network BBC generally only showed highlights and showed the bigger games live. Ireland's Call is the rugby anthem to incorporate NI and Republic of Ireland and that is the compromise IRFU have settled on as you say the anthem has been shown for years on sports coverage on BBC NI on GAA especially.

The World Cup Draw takes place on Friday, split across BBC1 and BBC2 from 4.45pm, moving to BBC2 at 6pm. Would have made more sense ot have it all on BBC2 really, though maybe they're hoping they'll handle it within the hour on BBC1.
With it unresolved whether Scotland or Wales will be involved wonder when the pick of games will take place. I suspect actually even if it's Ukraine instead there would still be significant interest in those games that it might be worth getting the picks sorted. I'd bet on ITV having two England group games and the BBC having two of the potential Scotland/Wales games.

That's uneccesarily messy. To make it even messier, the BBC Two portion of the programme won't be on BBC Two Wales due to rugby kicking-off at 18:30. At least there should be one uninterupted stream on iPlayer to follow it, and the programme looks like it will be shown in full on the Red Button too.
For the record, England will be in Pot 1, Wales/Scotland/Ukraine in Pot 4 (Wales probably would be in Pot 3 if they had qualified this week). The 'Group of Death' will probably be whichever group that sees Germany or Netherlands drawn from Pot 2. The only rule that could complicate things is that at least one and no more than two European teams and no more than one team from other confederations can be in the same group. And finally, worth noting this will be the last draw of a (men's) 32 team World Cup, with more tedium being introduced from 2026.
