And speaking of which… FOM revealed the new world feed titles, designed as ever by drive | studio in Hollywood. They are now less GFX and VFX laden and more studio focused, as well as a new, more dramatic, orchestrated arrangement of Brian Tyler’s brand anthem. They are available to watch from here (FOM deliberately avoids embedding the video with for very sense-making reason)

Premier have two packages, the ROI-only 3pm package, and the ROI rights to Package F (one full bank holiday and one full midweek round), ie the same games Prime Video would broadcast in the U.K. Because Package F consists of full rounds there shouldn’t be any concept of there being “picks” per se - every eligible game is supposed to be broadcast.
With the 3pm’s, back in the day Setanta did have free choice originally (and showed as many Man United and Liverpool games as they could possibly squeeze in) but at some point that changed, and they were given a quota of only showing each team five times, and I think that has stuck since through the changes with Sky and then Premier Sports taking over the package.

Looks like the England friendlies during the next international break are on Sky. They get some nice Nations League fixtures in the summer too with Italy and Germany also in Englands group.

They’re typically played about five minutes or so before the formation lap - they’ve replaced the old “Sweeping Curves” animation that used to be played at that point - and I think all TV rights holders are obliged to take them for live coverage.

Given that many of the games in the Amazon pack end up being simultaneous, where do Premier put them all? Do they have enough channels?

No they don’t - they can use both Premier 1 & 2 if available, and after that it’s the red button (when it works!). I suppose in theory they could put a game on FreeSports, but they haven’t done so yet. Red button games are exclusive to Sky customers, and aren’t available to those watching on Now or Vodafone.

Side note, BBC Sport really need to find a larger better coffee table for the smaller VR studio, it looked so cramped earlier when there were 3 pundits plus Jeanette all sat around it, now that Covid precautions seem to be easing
