Another day where Clare Balding did 30 seconds out of vision and then went home!

RE: Wimbledon 2022 - UTVLifer - 02-07-2022

Has Clare Balding even had to do her of her continuity announcements tonight?

EDIT: She's just spoken for under a minute OOV

She probably still gets paid the same, so is quite happy Wink

I think it’s only espn who have gone to the efforts off putting their graphics package rather then taking the official ones, now if bbc wanted to show off their new fancy graphics, why didn’t they do an espn and he able to reskin the graphics to the new bbc sport style.

Bit of a blast from the past parked at Wimbledon today - the superbly restored MCR21.

RE: Wimbledon 2022 - Markymark - 03-07-2022

Yes, MCR21 just appeared on BBC 1 now. In fact, the segment on now is well worth a watch, and McEnroe is being brilliantly subversive!

I know I'm going early here, but I doubt Today at Wimbledon will be on today with Centre Court starting far later than normal.

RE: Wimbledon 2022 - Brekkie - 03-07-2022

Earlier start at 8pm tonight too.

Looks like Watson and Norrie will be on court about the same time too which isn't great scheduling really. Suspect BBC1 will stick with Watson on Centre then switch to Norrie at the conclusion.

EDIT: Worked out nicely in the end with the match on Court 1 going to a third set meaning just three games were missed of the Norrie match.

Sue Barker getting a standing ovation on Centre Court

It was excellent I thought. Right now Sue is dealing with McEnroe and Billy Jean going off piste, it's almost like a scene out of Curb Your Enthusiasm!

RE: Wimbledon 2022 - Brekkie - 03-07-2022

Des Lynam was also in attendance.

Extremely Abrupt end on BBC2 just now. Just cut off mid point to go to BBC trailers ready for the next programme. I thought it was a news flash.

No Today at Wimbledon again. Must be a new record this year, the number of times it has failed to appear.

The conbination of early scheduling and late starts on centre court seem to have made it inevitable.

Thought they might chuck Djokovic on the red button with it not starting till 8pm. They could then always go back to it after TAW if it looks like something other than a routine 3 set victory.

Are the courts playing slower though too or matches just more competitive?  In the pre-roof days they began at 2pm and going beyond 8.30 was rare.
