Thanks. So in theory they could run Beat the Chasers on Saturday nights all Autumn, although I doubt they will, it would be far too much.
They’re filming another 4 Celeb Chase episodes this month as well and I think they might still have a few pre-Covid ones that haven’t gone out yet so they’ve got a stack of them. Seems a likely candidate to replace The Cube, assuming BTC isn’t still running.

Starstruck seemed to come about because The X Factor was on its way out then everything went quiet, possibly because ITV don't want to dampen the enthusiasm for Walk The Line. That said, Stars In Their Eyes type formats haven't tended to do well in recent times and only had the one series so maybe that will be the case for Starstruck after being hidden away somewhat.

X Factor last aired in 2019, Starstruck was meant to replace it in 2020, but they didn't film it in time because of the pandemic. It should've been and gone by now, instead of not yet having been scheduled. The first series of it should've been finished before they even commissioned Walk The Line.

Starstruck was filmed back in April/May. One reason I'd have thought they'd be keen to air it sooner rather than later is that it was filmed without a studio audience and presumably some form of social distancing (and possibly plexiglass between the judges), which might look a bit out of place if they leave it too far into 2022.

Up until ITV released their Autumn press pack, people knew about Starstruck's situation and expected it to be shown this year. That it isn't and seems to have dropped down the list of priorities while Walk The Line has appeared from nowhere isn't a coincidence, I'd say.

BBC reporting that the Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding, 39, who had breast cancer, has died. Sarah rose to fame in late 2002 when she successfully auditioned for the ITV reality series Popstars: The Rivals. A sad loss at such a young age, too.

I agree, similarly to my comments in the Big breakfast thread, I thought the launch of daybreak modernised the traditional ITV offering and provided a true alternative with the lighter segments and magazine style. Whilst the set was magnificent when light outside, it was part of the problem in the winter. If there was more to the set than the windows alone they may have gotten away with it. Again, it fell short to the approach of changing things straight away because they weren’t working - adding a red sofa for no real reason except for that was what had been done before, for example!
The theme tune and titles were lovely though, and I feel that the Lorraine branding coinciding with it was one of the strongest for her programme too.

Agree the original Daybreak concept shouldn't have been thrown out as easily as it was and unlike others didn't think it being dark outside on TV whilst it was dark outside at home was a problem. I do think ultimately GMB has been stronger because it didn't GMTV itself at the first sign of trouble and even though it evolved with Piers and made some tweaks over the years I think the GMB of 2014 is still recogniseable in the GMB of today.
